I followed a guide that said once I use the "Format emuNAND" function in GW menu, they become unlinked. I thought they were and acted as if they were, until well, I found out they weren't :P

Right, so... How do I "re-merge" the folders and use TinyFormat while keeping both NANDs intact (or atleast "existent", since I dont really care of keeping their content as they're both empty now :l Menuhax are busted too, but that is less a surprise. Only thing that survived was my rxtools, which is nice tbh.)

Edit: Im about to pass out, but I reformatted with TinyFormat. Before, I had 2 folders in my Nintendo3DS folder, and when i changed the theme on sysNAND, itd change it on emuNAND. I formatted and STILL have 2 folders, but when I change the theme on sysNAND, it does not change on emuNAND. Does this mean I unlinked them? Is there any better way to make sure?

The unwrap bug is also not occuring.

One of the folders is 10MB, the other is 800MB(has 1 game on it.)

Please tell me they're unlinked @[email protected]
They're unlinked.

So I have just got my 3DS and looking at getting a Gateway or Skycard. I'm running fitmware 7.X. A couple of questions:

1) If I get a gateway can I continue playing my retail pokemon ruby?

2) It is easy enough to change the 3DS ROM files so that I can play them online if I want to?

Thanks very much.

Hey gbatemp! So I attempted to spoof the e-shop last night of my new 3ds XL and ran into an issue. I've tried to hunt down a solution, but I can't find one. My 3ds will boot to the home menu, but I don't see the wifi icon. The system freezes when I attempt to run any apps on the home screen. This is the case even with the micro SD removed from the system. Any advice?? Thank you for any help!!

Noob question: Does O3DSXL support 64GB SDXC with FAT32 format? The guide-book said that only support to 32GB SDHC but some people said that the 64GB can be use if it is FAT32 format. Anyone can confirm?

I installed games as cia files to my emunand (rxtools) at FW 10.6. Some games want to download updates that are apparently optional. "Hit Y for update or A to start the game" kind of thing. When I hit Y the system downloads something and it even shows up under additional content in my data management settings. However, the games just keep asking for that update over and over so I am not sure if the updates did in fact install correctly. This was done on a new system (literally out of the box) and I haven't registered an account with the eshop yet, if that has anything to do with it. Is it not possible to download updates this way? Coincidentally, what exactly can I do online when playing games through the aforementioned method (online play etc.)?

You can't do it that way, since it's a pirated cia. You need to download a DLC.cia(DLC is an update cia) for that game(from that iso site of course), and install it using any CIA installer.

sorry to say it but, in order to install cfw on a 3ds without a browser, you not only need a ds flashcard but you also need to be on fw 4.x or 6.x . . . . so you need to update to 6.x use this to assist you in finding a game that requires 6.x and buy (rent, shoplift. ect) it use it to update then you can install rxtools cfw, and use rxtools to update to a proper 9.2 and either keep using rxtools and sell gateway, or use both . . . because you can

I updated to 6.2 and succesfully booted into rxtools mode, but how do I go from here?

Okay so here's my issue: Whenever I launch emuNAND, the icons on the home screen are all out of place. So everytime I launch it, I have to re-organize everything how I want it. Any way to make it so my home icons arrangement is saved whenever I power down my 3DS and re-launch emuNAND? I've tried powering off my device from the emuNAND home screen, as well as the sysNAND home screen (after going into emuNAND settings and exiting that to be brought to the sysNAND home screen).

INFO
o3DS XL
sysNAND: 4.5
emuNAND: 10.6
Gateway: 3.7.1
No homebrew

I have just preordered a New 3ds xl Hyrule Edition.

Which is the highest downgradeable firmware without hardmod for NEW 3DS XL?

Do you think this edition will be downgradeable without hard mod?

FW 10.3 is highest downgradeable firmware. What do you mean by soft mod?

Without Hard Mod 10.3, With Hard Mod 10.6. It depends, if it wasn't a very recent system, chances are that it will be in an exploitable version :)

And is the process to downgrade the same for a o3dsxl 10.3 than for a n3dsxl 10.3?

I updated to 6.2 and succesfully booted into rxtools mode, but how do I go from here?
Use rxTools to inject FBI into your health and safety, then install the sysUpdater.cia to your sysNAND. Get the update CIAs required from that iso site, and place it in SD:\updates. Now run rxTools Pasta mode then use the sysUpdater to update to 9.2. Now you can use browserhax to setup HBL, then use emuNAND9 or gateway launcher create an emuNAND, and do whatever you want with it.

Details on how to update:
  1. Go to a place to download update packs *that iso site* and download a "full" 9.2 update pack. (I'm not allowed to link it here unfortunately :/ But if you google this, with quotation marks you might find it - "[MEGA] [CIA/BIN] MSET 4.X & 6.X backups, Browser backups, Update packs (All Regions)" OR you could use 3DNUS to download the firmware package.
  2. Open it. Try to find a folder with a ton of .cia files in it. Usually it's called updates. Move it to your SD card and rename it to updates if it isn't already.
  3. Download sysUpdater from here. The cia will be inside the zip files, move it to somewhere on the SD card.
  4. Download FBI from here. Place it on the root of your SD
  5. Load rxTools, go to Advanced, select install FBI. Let it do its thing, make sure you let it up backup the original h&s if you ever want to restore it again.
  6. Load rxTools, go to Pasta Mode, and install sysUpdater.cia through the h&s app(now FBI)
  7. Open gift wrap, launch sysUpdater and select update. (Make sure you got the update from the correct site) After it installed all the CIAs, let it reboot. Done, you're now on sysNAND 9.2 :)
Look here first(instead of downgrade, you do an update):

Yes

ok you should . . . .wait a second . . . you already boot into rxtools then you are a little ahead of my train of thought . . . . ok if you can launch rxtools so you must have 6.x and mest set up. the next step is to get you to 9.0 0r 9.2 so . . .
download sysupdater and then update 9.2 (you can find the update on that iso site)
put the update in a single folder on sd card root named "updates"
then on your 3ds open the rxtools menu and boot the console into devmode (never builds call this pasta mode)
then install sysupdater and run it . . . .wait . . . . done

btw you should give this guide a read . . . it covers updating to 9.2 and setting up menuhax and other goodies along with the core of rxtools installation

My menu hax is having an issue for some reason, I am trying to get to HBL on my o3DS by following this video: https://gbatemp.net/threads/yellows8s-browserhax-thread.398132/

The menu haxx just crashes the browser without flashing any colours, no matter what I do.

I tried installing the HBL on sysNAND with the cia, but it wont open either :/ Keeps giving me an error.
