How do I make the beacon for smashbroshax? My N3ds is on 9.9 and can't use browserhax because it always prompts me to update, or if I use DNS settings it says the internet can't be used at this time. My smashbros cart doesn't show the version number on the title screen so I assume its the lowest version. I downloaded Acrylic Wifi home (free version) that lets me get into wifi monitor mode i think.

Can RXtools (more accurately an Emunand loaded with RX-9.2) not load JPN game carts? I thought it was the only one that COULD load region free?

Will the release in the thread above fix my issue? Even though it directly says RXtools can load region free, mine can't for some reason. I'm using the latest release, 9.2 Sysnand, currently 9.2 Emunand, O3ds.

What error would come up if the game couldn't launch under 9.2? Is it different from "cannot read game card" like the off-region error?

Also once I have a backup of an emunand (backup meaning a dump created from Emunand9) that I'm happy with, am I finally free to update that Emunand to 10.5 using system settings?

So, I was about to launch Decrypt9 but then it returned to the HLB.

This happened using the CIA version of the Homebrew Launcher and from Cubic Ninja in emuNAND 10.3.

Am I missing something here?

I don't think you can launch Decrypt9 in Emunand.

You can launch it in Sysnand.

I know at some point rxTools' region free broke in one of the beta releases. You can still use Free Multi Patcher to enable region free on CFW.

I have a brand new, N3DS XL with 9.9 firmware. I want to downgrade. The last new one I had was when 10.3 was the latest FW. Then I was able to just update to 10.3 and use what I believe is called browser hax. Can I do the same with newest FW? I thought I read somewhere 10.4 stopped it, but is again possible in 10.5. Please let me know what the easiest method would be. Thanks.

Downgrade to 9.2, see tutorial sections
Install cfw, reinand if your n3ds or rxtools if your o3ds

While in emuNAND9, did you copy the nand.bin into emuNAND

I'm not sure, I just chose "complete emunand setup" and confirmed the format etc.

I've been wondering this for a while now as I keep seeing the same issue complained about over and over.

eShop access on CFW.

Is this really that important, or it just that as hackers we aim to achieve as 100% to OFW as possible. and/or is this just a fix for those on CFW that also want buy ware games from the eShop?
I'm in no way saying, you're already a pirate why are you buying stuff, I am strictly coming at this from my Noob perspective, does the eShop offer something other than Pay to Buy services? please note I'm not an avid CFW user and/or Nintendo gamer. used to be a Sony fanboy till I went PC and now I'm just neutral. I've never really used the eShop on OFW other than to download demos and buy a few on-sale games.

If I update my emunand to 10.5, can I still use FBI to install game cia files? I heard that if you update, you can no longer install cia files. Is this true? Thanks

Yes,you can update emunand to 10.5 and still use fbi

the eshop account or nnid is also linked to many online games so it is as important as online play in that aspect but more honestly people (as you noted)really like having a "complete" console
and cfw at this time has no problem with the eshop (n3ds used to have a 9.5 fw limit for emunand and as such an eshop problem . . . but this is a thing of the past atm)

its fine as long as you only update emunand you can still continue to use fbi
