Is there any way to recover savefiles from a Nintendo 3DS folder? My console can't read my savefiles since I formatted my dbs, but I guess my save files should be there, right?

Noob question, I'm goint to install cfw on my O3ds but I'm gonna use a 16GB SD card instead of the 2GB it had. Do i have to copy everything from the 2GB card to the 16GB, or should I start from the 16GB from scratch?

You haven't set up Emunand right?

Then you can copy everything from the 2gb to 16 gb. Though I recommend 32 gb

Hello,

I have tried several different CIA's for animal crossing HHD, everytime i boot the game it gives me the "an error has occurred. Hold down the power button to turn of the power"..

I tried starting the game without updates, and with. but not luck.

I am trying to start it in reinand 10.4 (but i had the same issue before 10.4 too sadly)

Does anyone know a fix for this?

Let's say I want to play original 3DS games and use online capabilities. Should I use sysNAND or emuNAND for playing those games?

And also when that game wants an update before launching, how should I proceed? If I try to update through e-shop, what will happen?

I'd suggest using rxTools since you're using an O3DS. MenuHax is nice for coldbooting. I'd suggest updating your sysNAND to 9.2 via Pasta CFW or rxTools devmode/pasta mode and SysUpdater. You MUST use Pasta or rxTools devmode/pasta mode with SysUpdater! Any other CFW will brick your 3DS!

You should use emuNAND to play your original carts online.

If you are prompted to update a game, it is ok to do it through the prompt or through the eShop. If you are prompted to do a system update on emuNAND, you should do it through the system settings.

Hey guys, been away a while and just recently downgraded my N3DS from 10.3 to 9.2. I've been searching for a way to access the eShop and I'm not seeing anything concrete on how best to do this. All I have access to is Cubic Ninja along with HBL via menuhax. If anyone could give me a quick rundown on what I should do at this point, I'd greatly appreciate it. Nothing else has been installed at this point other than what was needed to downgrade.

I'd also love some advice on what I should backup on my system for any issues in the future. Thanks.

If they're on "That ISO site" then yes, usually those are safe.
However, never install CIA's to SysNand. And have a backup of your EMUNand.

Now that you're on 9.2, you'll want to install some CFW (since you're on N3DS, you'll be using Reinand). Once you have CFW and emunand, you can safely update the emunand to 10.4 which will allow eshop access, and your sysnand will remain on 9.2. All you need is cubic ninja to get started. Here's a tutorial for reinand (the files in the tutorial are old, but you can still set up reinand with that, then just update the reinand files once you're done). Also, you'll either want to use CTR Boot Manager to launch reinand, or just have it automatically launch from menuhax. I can give better help if you need it.

I've a very nooby question for ya. I just recently downgraded, and then installed cakes with fbi onto a o3dsxl.
I just bought a used o3ds that's on a really low firmware. It was something like 2.1. I've no exploitable game carts. Have a few 3ds carts that can be used to update to the pre-installed firmware.
