First I would like to apologize for this dumb idea.
Since 10.4 is out, a lot of things have been patched.
What if we have a DNS server like tubehax, which would redirect us to the old updates like 9.2.
Now what I mean is that, since tubehax used a server to redirect the 3ds to homebrew webpage why not do the same but rather host an old update to the 3ds.
For example if I have a 3ds on 10.4 or latest and I had a DNS setup on my 3ds that directs it to a 9.2 update. Like a fake server that tricks the 3ds into thinking that there is a new update from nintendo. Would it work?

I don't think that how the server works, rather it just block any Nintendo related sites so tubehax couldn't get block and you cant sense t he updates.

Besides, once you get the nag, the update for 10.4 is already on your system. The 3DS would that 10.4 is newer then 9.2 so i won't update in that sense and download again.

I have to wonder, I remember I followed a tutorial to install RXTools.
Now I got the doubt on how do I update RXTools? Not the emuNAND, but the Tools itself.

Also, is there a way to identify which version you have of RXTools? Mine was provided already in the tutorial attachments, so dunno which one I have.

You are most likely using the most recent version of RxTools (unless official 3.0 came out)

And updating is as simple as replacing files.

I don't think so, as they don't include version numbers in anything but the zip file with everything in it.

I am sorry if this has been already asked but I need to know if there is a way I can change SDCard on a New Nintendo 3ds 9.2 with ReiNAND 10.3 without having to do again the whole process to get it, and also I'd like to keep my games and saves.. Is there a way?

Do you have NNID linked to emunand?

A friend of mine just called me asking a question that I don't have an answer to.
He is currently on emunand 10.3, sysnand 9.0.
He updated his gateway launcher to 3.7.1 via emunand microsd card management. He turns off the ds. He turns it back on, and attempts to re-enters emunand via mset exploit. He receives an "error has occurred, system will restart" message on screen, and can proceed no further. This is exactly how I updated my own emunand and gateway, and I experienced no issues.

I've never actually received any sort of error in my own experience, so I'm not sure what to suggest to him. I've already had him try re-copying the Gateway launcher, in case it corrupted during wireless transfer, currently waiting to hear back but thought I should post in the meantime.

EDIT: the launcher was indeed corrupted during wireless transfer, taking the back off and replacing the launcher via microsd reader fixed the problem

All you need to do is back up all the files in your old SD card, then on your new SD card you need to format emunand on it. After that, all you need to do is to update emunand, and then put all the files back onto the new SD card.

But I was looking into the Tutorial section of GBATemp and saw the 4 tutorials on CFW setup on the New3DS. What are the benefits of each CFW(CakesFW, ReiNand, rxTools, NTRCFW)? I'm lost to which one to install. Will they still support the Gateway card post installation of these CFW and .cia files?

So.. I create the partition with EmuNAND9 and then all of what I have to do is put old folders instead of new ones?

For now, only CakesFW/ReiNand/Gateway supports up to 10.4 Emunand.

CakesFW and ReiNand are minimalist CFW, they only patch signatures that enable you to run/install CIAs, but that's about it.

RxTools doesn't support 10.4 Emunand on N3ds yet, it's lacking a few features due to it being on a N3ds, but it's practically a Gateway without a MultiRom menu, and is free.

NTR-CFW supports 10.4 Emunand, it's something that runs in the background of Emunand, it enables region free, performance booster, etc.

It doesn't matter which one you wish to install, as CakesFW/ReiNand/Gateway all boot into the same Emunand.

If you do install another CFW and still want to use Gateway, then all you need to do is use Gateway.
