Are you using the TubeHax DNS, or other router blocks, which might prevent your 3DS from contacting the Nintendo update servers?

Okay, my emuNAND finished updating, and when I booted into emuNAND it said it was updating the home menu, and then it blacked out and booted me back into homebrew. Now I can't launch emuNAND through rxtools anymore.

Private headers are only needed for .3ds files. Every retail game cartridge has it's own private header. People playing with the same header is what get's people banned. To get a private header one would need to dump one of their own retail game cards and then that same header can be used with every .3ds rom. Since you are using cfw, emunand & cias, you don't need to worry about headers. .3ds = retail game dump. cia = eshop game and/or .3ds converted to cia. cia's do not have private headers. Hope that helps.

Delete menuhax from your sysnand. I had the same issue. idk the exact folder tho :x I was only told the one for EU region >_< Anyway it's in the sysnand folder's extdata.

So its confirmed i downgraded my new 3ds correctly, yet i have issues getting CFW to work, would you by any chance know a decent (english) video guide?

Everytime i think i have installed a CFW i cannot install Cia's nothing, since fbi gives me an error, perhaps with a video guide i can do it properly.

What happens when you have a game that requires a new firmware but you have a lower firmware? Will the game simply not show up on the home menu?

So, is getting everything back to how it was before on N3DS as simple as restoring my sysNAND backup and then updating, or are there other things I have to do? Please help me. I really regret CFW'ing this thing and want to get it back in working order, hopefully with Ironfall 1.0 still on there.

Oh, well. The thing is, I saw a good tutorial that worked for my friends, in which they downgrade first to 9.2 and then back to 4.x. They create emunand and stuff from the gateway page that they access via the browser, and there it formats the entire SD card.

Supposedly, is it because on 4.x you have more access to stuff, but it seems that CFW on 9.2 works fine.

I used BBM to install it. I never use FBI.

It can only install certain cias.

as i said part of the process ( . . . well of any good guide anyway) the one i linked for you has backing up your sd as the first step for creating emunand see here

Section 5 - Creating EmuNAND!​

We will now create EmuNAND!

Backup your SD card now.

Launch EmuNAND9 again.

To launch EmuNAND9 using the web browser:
Open your 3DS web Browser and go to is.gd/loade9 to launch EmuNAND9.

To launch EmuNAND9 using the Homebrew Launcher:
Boot the HBL and select EmuNAND9.

Once in EmuNAND9, navigate to Complete EmuNAND Setup. Ignore the starter.bin warning and follow the instructions. Wait for the EmuNAND creation process to finish.

Once that's done, you can put all your SD card contents back on your card.
You don't need to put NAND.bin back on your sd card unless you want to downgrade to 4.X (not recommended).

if the first thing you did was backup your sysnand then yes that should be all thats needed

but im a little confused why do you want to unhack in the first place?
what do you regret?
and you want to get it to "working order" is something wrong with it?

I'm going to downgrade my New 3DS XL from 10.3 to 9.2 and install emunand and then format my sysnand system so that everything including my eshop account, games saves etc exist in my emunand. But I'm wondering what I need to do to ensure I can completely reverse everything so that I can go back to official firmware with my eshop account, games, saves, profiles all working as normal again. I have a lot of eShop purchases and saves I don't want to lose.

I'm I right in thinking that this will allow me to return to a pre-hacked state:

1. Downgrade New 3ds from 10.3 to 9.2
2. Backup all contents on my SD card somewhere and keep that.
3. Use decrypt9 to backup my sysnand into a NAND.bin. Save that somewhere so it never gets lost
4. Install emunand (in the process it'll clone my sysnand to emunand?)
5. Format my sysnand so my nands are unlinked and then basically exclusively use my emunand.

If I ever want to return I can then format my SD card. Use decrypt9 to install my sysnand Nand.bin backup from pre-hack. And then copy back all the contents from my SD card pre-hack. Will that work? Will I have my eshop account, purchased games, friend list etc back to normal on my system? What about my save games for eshop titles?

Sorry, I have never done it before but probably something in the tutorial section. If you're on cfw w/ emunand though, just use cia's or convert the 3ds files to cia's. Then no need to worry about headers.

It's a long story why I want to un-hack it. Mostly because all my stuff is gone and I can't get it back because FBI doesn't work on emuNAND. AT ALL.
Well, I just restored my sysNAND and updated, and not only is all my stuff still gone, now my NNID doesn't work. It's because I didn't format my emuNAND, probably, so now I have to downgrade AGAIN and format AGAIN and HOPEFULLY it will unlink my NNID so I can re-link it to sysNAND and get all my stuff back (except Ironfall. R.I.P. Ironfall.)
Ugh, I'm such an idiot. This sucks.

Wait, I just realized what I did wrong. I didn't back up my sysNAND until after I formatted. Well, bye-bye everything. It was nice wasting money on my system.
