So a little bit of deep digging I find that Gateway emuNAND does NOT support GBA Virtual Console cia's or DSiWare cia's so, what is my best options?

Hey people! I'm in a bit of a pickle regarding system transferring my current o3ds (9.2 sysnand, 10.3 rxtools emunand, still linked for now). You see, my n3dsxl will only get here by saturday or so; I'm afraid 9.4 might be out by then and therefore a transfer from my o3ds wouldn't be possible (can a emunand even act as the source system with no problems?). I think my options in that case would then be:
1) Performing a spoofed system transfer, I know we've got a thread for that here but it's apparently not working anymore. Is there a currently working method?
2) Waiting for 9.6+ emunand support on n3ds, which is seemingly coming soon enough, and performing a o3ds emunand -> n3ds emunand transfer. Is it doable? I found a guide out there, but it's quite old already and I haven't heard of people doing it recently.
I'd appreciate any thoughts, it'd be nice to weight my options before going in.

and guys, if i format the system (without the SD Card), I wouldn't have to go through all the (cfw) installation processes again, would I? I plan to switch my NNID.

. . . rxtools does not red screen . . . . but menuhax does try to hold the button to skip menuhax

the cfw is stored on the sd you may need to set up menuhax and maybe a cia installer in sysnand again

Hey just bought an n3DS LL while Japan, and it comes pre installed with 9.9, is it safe to downgrade it to 9.2?

Can you guys help me answer this person? Originally, it started with problems updating his emuNAND to 9.5.

Then it seems his problem is a bit bigger since he didn't back up his NAND correctly the first time, thus decided to unlink 2x (how can you even unlink 2x?)
Proof of problem: He has 3 folders in Nintendo 3DS.

. . . to identify the unused folder install some stuff to emunand and then the one that grew larger would be for emunand then repeat in sysnand to find out witch of the remaining two belong to sysnand
if needed he can call nintendo (with his nnid's email and password) to get his nnid unlinked from the remaining folders account

And I forgot that simple solution. Just thought it was really weird to have 3 folders there.

Hm, okay... I figured out that because my sysNAND is at 4.x, it should be my emuNAND that must be reformatted/remade to renew my NNID. So let's say that I backup the SD's contents, then reformat it, and copy-paste the files back, would that work? I feel like I'm gonna have to go through installing everything again just for a different NNID..

edit: Or is there any other way to get my emuNAND's NNID reset?

you guessed it if you format emunand you will need to reinstall everything (. . . well everything that was on emunand)
. . . why not use another sd card and set a entirely new emunand up on that ?

The old one's literally not used anymore. But I guess I'll just work on it when boredom hits me sometime lol. Thanks a lot, once again, man!

Hi everyone!

I downgraded my old 3DS from 10.3 to 9.2 with no problems, installed rxtools, emunand, menuhack, unlincked the nands. The only problem I have is that I can't update my emuNAND to any higher version of FW. I tried updating from Setting menu, it downloads everything, but after reboot I always get an error message "Something went wrong please contact customer service bla-bla-bla".

I tried re-formatting my sd card, tried installing 9.9 cias by FBI, and I always get the same message. What can be wrong? How can I fix it?

Is it safe to complete the Mii Plaza update or do I have to go about updating this in a different manner?

It will prompt you to update your emuNAND if you try to update Mii Plaza. You'll either need to spoof for eShop access, download the update as a cia, or wait for ReiNAND's 10.3 N3DS support to be released.

You'll need an original game cart to update to a firmware between 4.1 and 4.5. A list of games and what updates they contain can be found here. From there, you can follow this tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/ to set up rxTools, or you can follow the Gateway manual on the Gateway website if you want to use the red cart. Personally I prefer CFW over Gateway, but that's me.
