Is it a good time to upgrade to (and hack) a N3DS now? I want the better 3D. I successfully downgraded by O3DS, how safe downgrading the N3DS atm?

Is it better to downgrade now when the downgrade process is still new but 10.3 is hacked (so I can retry if softbricked) or should I wait and use whatever new downgrade process they will have for 10.4 (assuming downgrading gets patched by 10.4)? Do we know if there will be a downgrade process for 10.4? If so, are we looking at days or months?

How can I customise the cfw startup (if possible) and add themes in emunand N3DS? Here's what currently happens:

After I backed up my system NAND, I did not get the dbs file, why is that? And can someone please link a good, latest tutorial of rx tools?

Is there a uncomplicated way to boot right into (rxTools) emunand? Because I don´t use sysnand at all, just created it for savety.

Explain the process you use to make cfw, as you did something wrong

If done correctly, you would still have access to all of your games

Put Starter Pack on SD
remember to backup SD
Get the CIAs for 9.2
Downgrade 10.3 -> 9.2 (via Browserhax)
Install Menuhax, then accidentally broke it (switched theme)
Add PastaCFW, FBI and EmuNAND9 apps to my /3ds folder
Start HBL (Browserhax), Start PastaCFW, System crashed
Reboot, Start HBL (browserhax), Start PastaCFW, System didn't crash!
Start HBL (browserhax), install FBI.cia
change theme again to make SURE menuhax is not active
HBL again (browserhax!) and EmuNAND9 -> make a NAND dump.
Backup SD again.
Format MicroSD to put the EmuNAND partition on there, from within emunand.
Put everything from my backup back onto the microSD, except for NAND.bin.
(I can now see my DSiWare games, but no 3DSeShop titles.)

went on to format sysNAND to unlink NANDs, propely formatting it with the SD out and re-insterting it during boot, installing rxTools and CBR; menuhax type 2, and copy my /dbs folder from backup into emunand before rebuilding.

i bought a new sd card for my new 3ds xl - where is the save data located for my .cia installed games? i copied the titles folder inside my "randomnumbersandletters" folder but i cant access my mhx save

You did the exact same thing I did wrong.
You backed up the Nand, but didn't actually restore it

Use emunand tool to inject that nand you backed up into emuNAND

Payload is different since it now a different firmware.
Use browserhax

You have to reinstall menuhax. Use browserhax to access HBL.

I have a (Old) 3DS XL that is currently at firmware 8.1. I hear that it's possible to update right to 9.2 with a newer SSB4 cartridge. Should I go buy a new cartridge, update to 9.2, and return it, or is there an alternate way for me to upgrade to 9.2?

No.
The Nand is a bit different consider it is like the OS of the 3ds.
The .bin file is just a record of the OS, but does not actually do anything.

To have it do stuff, you have to inject it to the sysnand/emunand (at this point, we kinda ignore sysnand, as I'll be referred to emunand). That what emuNAND9 (homebrew version) and emunand tool (computer program version) is for, to inject it so it works.
Use emunand tool, as that you can go Nand to emunand, not sure if you can do that in emuNAND9. When you get emunand tool, use version 1.0.1, not 1.0.3.

Guide is not wrong when it says don't copy back nand.bin as that a waste of memory

right after the downgrade, your menuhax, if even left intact, should still be using the 10.3 payloads, so its not supposed to work.
you need to enter homebrewloader through browserhax (the slider one) and then install menuhax again from there

So, I have very n00b-ish questions.

I downgraded my 2DS to 9.2 a few days ago, did sysNAND backup with Decrypt9 and updated back to 10.3. Today, I downgraded back to 9.2 and wanted to install CFW and emuNAND. I installed PastaCFW and did another NAND backup with Emunand9, unlinked NANDs and after that I realized you can't have 10.3 emuNAND.

I went back to 10.3 firmware and my question is: can I "relink" my NANDs back together? Also, right now my 2DS's SD card says that it doesn't have any games installed from eShop (even though all files are still here). Can I use one of my NAND backups (by using Decrypt9's sysNAND restore function) to regain access to my old files or do I have to reinstall them from eShop? If i have to redownload them, can I still use my old save files?

I try to install FBI.cia after running minipasta and FBI and it said installed failed. After saying it failed, on the top screen it says FBI 1.4.17. Did I messed up or did it work?

not in my experience. using the eshop doesn't work but dling the updates does for me.

There was a way to remove to update nag, but it's experimental and I forgot where I saw it.

You can use them on any 3ds, but they're mainly for N3DS.

Hi guys! I'm very new in this, so I will probably need a lot of explanation...
So, I tried to play Happy Home Designer on my o3ds, but it keeps freezing on the loading screen.
My sysnand is 7.1.0-16U and my emunand is 10.3, I use rxtools.
Is there a way to fix that? Or I will need to buy the original game?
