That was my next question. Do you have to have the homebrew launcher boot.3dsx in the same place as my boot.3dsx to auto boot rxtools emunand? If so, I don't think it will work.

the general idea is to hold Y while startingthe homebrewlauncher so it create a payload bin for it.
it should afterwards boot you to rxtools.
then you go to sd card, open the new payloadfile with an editor, search for the word 'boot' and replace boot with whatever you call homebrewchannels bootfile. i called it HBL8.3dsx as suggested in ome tutorial. afterwards, the hbl cia should bring you to hbl.


I also got a question, should I install fbi to sysnand too? just in case or something?

You lost me here. Do I just hold Y when I boot HBL through any means of launching, or during the first launch of it after installing the HBLcia? Could you possibly link me to the tutorial you followed for this?

after installing the hbl cia, hold y while launching it.
cause at this moment, it'll redirect you to your current boot.3dsx, you'll end up in rxtool again, so shut down the 3ds, insert the sd in your pc and edit the newly created payload file (for me, it has a very prominent name like 'payload somethingsomething EUR OLD 10.3.0.28.bin')
take the hbl boot file from the starter kit, rename it however you like and replace the word boot.3dsx in the new payload file with whatever you renamed the hbls boot.3dsx too.

afterwards, the hbl cia in your emunand should redirect you to the loader gain

I know this is a pretty common problem but I'm cautious about upgrading the emunand because it backfired last time.

I want to play Fire Emblem if in English. I have both a CIA and a 3DS file but the 3DS stalls on the infinite loading Nintendo screen. The CIA won't fit. I'm using 9.2u old. Gateway loading using select from gateway mode.

I have some questions .

I downgraded the 3ds yesterday .

Using Gateway , i already did one backup of the sysNAND , installed and updated the emuNAND and tested some .cia games with FBI.
Seems all is going fine . (Still need to unlink the nands , forgot to do that)

For now , i just want to know if :

1 - Can i boot my 3ds direct (just after power on) in Gateway Menu? (Or in emuNAND)
2 - Can i install FBI (the .cia archive) and use it in the 3ds menu like it was a game ?
3 - And do the same with HBL (with Homehax or something) ?
4 - There is any other homebrew that i may find usefull with Gateway?

Is this how i move to a new sd?
Start emunand9
Backup emunand
Unmount old sd and put in pc
Backup all files from old sd
Mount new sd in 3ds
Create emunand partition
Unmount new sd
Copy emunand backup to new sd
Mount it again and clone emunand bin to emunand
Put all other files to new sd

Be done?

Tried using Google's DNS, still threw me the error. Does the fact that I am using a US cia on a EU emuNAND affect anything?

N3DS 9.0.0-20E PastaCFW user here, i'm back into the 3DS stuff and i'm kind of lost with all the new CFW that was just growing when i left.

Should I switch to RXTools ?
Or Should I just stick with Pasta ?

I don't really want to go through the trouble of setting up an Emunand, because i want to keep my friend code, NNID.
I use Free Multi Patcher for regionfree and eshop access.

And... that's about it i guess.

I still plan to buy the upcoming DLCs for Smash Bros (Bayonetta & Corrin), plus one of the GB Pokémon games on February 27th, on eShop.
Can I purchase eShop games/DLC/etc through Emunand normally, and they will be associated with my NNID too, without any risk?

This is what I need to know in order to unlink my NANDs, otherwise I don't plan to keep Emunand on my system.

I downgraded my 10.3.0E N3DS to 9.2.0E and did the "change the dbs files and reset" thing. Before this, I made a backup of everything, just to be safe. However, when I tried to paste my files back to my sd, my device couldn't see any game at all. Have I just lost every savefile I had there?

Also, if I just give up and want to restore my console to its original state, how should I bring my N3DS to 10.3.0? Do I have to do something in particular?

Yes, as you can spoof the firmware.

Well, can you link me a post to do it right ?
I've been told that if you unlink your sysnand & emunand, you won't have the same FC & NNID on the emunand. So if you want to play with your original FC, you have to play on sysnand :/
And what's the point of having an emunand if you don't use it for playing games

Something wrong and not everything was stated. The downgrade shouldn't delete any game files. To my knowledge, what would is if you reformat you nand.
Need a step by process of what you did.

I don't know about gw, but based on cfw, the latest working update is 9.5, not 10.+.
