I have N3DS, I updated NAND to 9.5 (since N3DS can't go higher), then did that. You did that on which version? emuNAND is in 10.3 here.
You can configure menuhax to install itself with the black theme.
I have a question about my unlinked NANDs.
Basically, after unlinking them, I lost access to NNID services (error 022-2634) in emuNAND.
I can't link sysNAND to NNID unless I update (can't really, it's 9.2).
What should I do to get access back? Backup emuNAND, format it, update, relink?
Hey there!
I wanted to ask a few questions. I've been reading A LOT of threads and stuff about the Sky3DS+ and Gateway but some things are unclear to me.
I currently have a N3DS with 10.3.0-28E firmware. I was planning on buying a Sky3DS+, as I have a 3DS firmware version not compatible with Gateway, but I also want regular DS games (like Dragon Quest) so it was recommended for me to wait for Gateway to update their compatibility to 10.3.X. So now that they've announced it (I know it will be quite some time for it to release all the same) I started to read up the Gateway and got some questions about it's compatibility: (Keep in mind, this is all for when the update comes out)
1. Can I use the Gateway cards (Blue and Red) to play 3DS roms and DS roms on my N3DS?
2. What is necessary for me to be able to install Homebrew and be able to launch Gateway on my N3DS? (For example, I read about Cubic Ninja and the OOT and the browser exploit.. What is the current way to install the Gateway launcher on my N3DS?
3. I will be getting an O3DS for my sister this week, but I don't know what firmware it will be. With what firmware could I use it to make my N3DS ready for Gateway?
4. Is it possible to load up the Gateway launcher while being offline? I plan on taking my N3DS on holiday a lot and I'm sure I won't have internet everywhere. I read internet connection is required to boot it up? Is that still correct?
5. How can you switch from playing 3DS games to NDS games and the other way around? Do I need to carry the Blue and Red cartridges with me everywhere?
I can't think of any more questions on the top of my head, but if you could help me with these first of all, that would be fantastic. I've been lurking this forum for a month or so and I understand that you're sick of people asking the same questions, but hey, that's what this thread is for, right?
Should I be using bigbluemenu or FBI to install games?
Is it possible to automatically boot right to emuNAND? It's kind of inconvenient to have to launch the internet browser every time I power on my 3DS and launch rxtools.
Yes, but I was under the impression that was only for booting into HBL?Have you heard of Menuhax?
Yes, but I was under the impression that was only for booting into HBL?
You can configure menuhax to install itself with the black theme.
I have absolutely no idea why you would want a Sky3DS+Gateway combo, but I'll answer your questions anyways (since I have the combo when it was necessary).
1. Yes.
2. Your browser. To install Gateway you just throw Launcher.dat they provide in the download package.
3. I don't get what you're saying here. You're saying you want to use your O3DS to make your N3DS Gateway ready?
4. Yes
5. Yes
I didn't mean that I wanted both Sky3ds and Gateway, I meant that I was looking into sky3ds first because of my firmware version but the sky3ds can only play .3ds file and I also want to play .nds files, so that's where Gateway comes in. If I buy the Sky3ds I'd need to buy a second regular r4 card which was too much of a hassle. And since the announcement of possible support for 10.3, I want to go with Gateway. Do you understand what I mean?
1 & 4: Thank you!
2. I've read somewhere that the browser trick didn't work on the N3DS but if it does that would be good!
3. Yeah that was the 'old' way to do it right? Have an O3DS with firmware between 4.X-9.2 and transfer data between them to be able to set up emunand and gateway for the N3DS?
5. Can you elaborate a bit more on how the changing works? If I insert the blue card to play DS games, how do I get back to play 3DS games?
Okay, thanks to everyone who helped. I got it working.
My only concern now is the fact that, at least when I'm in EmuNAND, my 3D isn't working correctly. It's just splitting the images rather than actually displaying in 3D. Any ideas?

Note that if you have the firmware spoof installed and you format it, your emunand might brick.

Is there a way to backup/restore emuNAND easily on GNU/Linux?
I guess I'm in exactly the same boat too....
Unlinked nands by booting sysnand, then formating with removed sd card.
emunand wont log in to nnid (login screen still apprears, but then i get error message) and I can't go into nnid settings, since that seems to automatically kick me back to sysnand, where an update is required.
while technically, I could get back what I bought on the eshop, I'd prefer to get it back 'normally'
according to a random google find, the only chance to get things back on track would be formating emunand. but i have no idea how to go about doing that, since I'd suppose, if you backup emunand files, even after format, when you put the files back, you'd be right where you started off?

And Confirmed, my theory was correct. It was a 2nd emuNAND, as I didn't restore my emuNAND after the making my emuNAND the first time around. This created a new EmuNAND.My bad, I misread your post a bit. The two folders in the "Nintendo 3DS" folder apply to each NAND. One for sysNAND and one for emuNAND. Once you unlink the NANDs by formatting sysNAND, emuNAND has full control over the old folder, while sysNAND has full control over the newly created one.
Why you have two folders inside the 776B folder I'm not sure. I've never actually seen that before. It's not because of a second emuNAND though. If it were a second emuNAND, it would either have it's own folder in the "Nintendo 3DS" folder, or it would be sharing a folder with one of the other NANDs. What is inside the 982b00 and 145600 folders?
