but i can put my old nintendo 3ds folder on the sd and delete the new one?
I'm pretty sure it what inside the Nintendo 3DS folder that important, since there should be folder with random numbers/letter. The old you is your emunand while your new one is your sysnand.
I wouldn't delete the any of the folder and keep both.

You should've had these on your sd card before formatting your emunand
Note: if your old 3ds folder wasn't removed from the sd carrd before formatting your emunand then you should be good to go theres no reason to replace the folder.

to clarify things up:
i have an old folder and a new folder. while formating emunand i had the old on my sd card, after it was finished i had both. [didn´t delete one)
now i´ve put the old folder to the sd card, run cakes via browser [already installed it before] at checked the use emunand option. so what now? i still can´t swich between 2 fw i guess, because in setting the fw name or whatever don´t change.

just compared both folders, seems like they have the same key thingy. the only different is that on the old folder theres another key (but it contains only 5MB) and a private folder.

Need some info in this format.
Open your Nintendo 3DS folder of both old and and new, and tell us what you see.

Or rather, did you unlink your NAND or no?

new folder -> key 1 -> key2-> extdata folder
old older -> key 1 -> key 3 -> extdata/dbs/backup title folder
_________ -> key 4 -> key 3 -> extdata folder

as long as unlinking doesn´t work automatically i didn´t do it

I'm a bit confused on the old folder. why does it have 3 different keys?
I'm pretty sure New should not share any key with the old, so something is off why there key 1 in both folders.

This is a really dumb question, I know, but if I were to get a new SD card and copy all of my files onto it, would I be able to pick up where I left off or would I have to set everything up again?

Wait, then why did you say key 1 was in both old and new? Remember this is right inside Nintendo 3DS, not inside the following folder.

read that .txt file in the picture. the person had both folders, new and old. they then made next file to know which is which. Their old folder became the emuNand, while their new folder, which came after unlinking the Nand, is the SysNand.

You have to set things up again due to the Nand.

Left is new and right old.

Should I maybe just format Emunand again, install CFW right after it and then get my games, if it should work so?

How come on your older backup there are to keys? There is only meant one key. I recommend you do it all again.
Think so too. So just format Emunand, install CFW right after it and then get my games somehow?

Edit: Okay then, sorry for asking twice, thpught nobody would have red it because it´s an edit on the old message :)

Yes just in case keep your other backups somewhere else.

In order to transfer all of your data onto a new sd card, you will need to backup your nand and all of the folders on your sd card and then you will need to inject your nand on your new sd card and copy all of the files to your new sd card.
