I've got a noob question. Im new here so im not sure if theres a method to search for key words or sumting to find similar questions to the ones i am about to ask (do tell if there is one, thanks), so here goes =D

I've been following this guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/) to get rxTools running on my 3ds which is running on fw 9.2. I've tried following the steps required and somehw managed to get the data installed during the 1st launch for rxTools, n then it immediately closes (or crashes) to the main menu. wat ever shall i doo? I've even tried downloading different versions of rxTools and following the instructions in the text files from the download.

I've since deleted the initial one from the tutorial in the link because i downloaded too many version that i got myself confused so i deleted them and decided to redownload them but at the moment every time i click the click to download the rxTools file it says,

Error (429)
This account's links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!

Im guessing I'll have to wait fr a while fr it to be available? But wat about rxTools crashing every time after i download the necessary data from the initial launch? N other methods either result in fail to download the data during the initial launch or even load the link to launch rxTools from the browser. Any help or answer i can get is very much appreciated, thx =D

Did you do the "dbs" folder part and did you "format emunand" from the gateway menu?

So, I've been out of this a while and a lot has happened.

I have a 9.2u firmware and a gateway card though I'm not sure where the blue card is. What would I need to do to play the new fire emblem? I downgrade to 4.5 somehow or is there something new now?

I don't have a copy of Zelda or that other thing. Though I think I have a Zelda generic savefile on here.

Sry, still new here n dunt noe hw to quote yet (oops, i saw the insert quotes button down there, i tink dats hw it works haha). But yes, in the steps it mentioned not needing to do the dbs part if one already existed n in my case i already had a dbs (file?) thing so i didnt cr8 a new one, shud i? and yeah, i did follow the format emunand from the gateway menu. Such a headache, dont mean to be a burden, but thx fr tryna help in the 1st place man =D

I think installing cfw is going to be easy we have too much material about it and i should be fine,but re installing things in another SD is what makes me afraid. Like if i do the emunand thing and change sd the emunand will stay or no?

Nope, your saves will be fine. Only system files are modified.

if you already have the dbs then you dont have to. You've followed the process correctly so I dont see why rxTools isnt working.

@Archemetes I'm going to send you a previous version of rxtools give that a shot. after you extract it just put the rxtools folder on the root of your sd card and launch it normally. Note: make sure you delete the old rxtools folder on your sd card before putting the one I sent you

what he means is that any save data wont be effected, so mii plaza should be okay. and badge arcade may still be okay as well

I have a 2DS on 10.3.0-28U with a linked NNID: all my games are digital purchases. Currently I have access into BrowserHax, MenuHax, OoTHax and IronHax.


1) After I downgrade my unit, I will still have access to my NNID and my purchased games (except the ones that can't work under certain system versions, such as Zelda Triforce Heroes and Pokémon Shuffle)?

2) For these games (and online play in general for other games, such as Smash Bros, Pokémon, etc), what's the best course of action? I suppose it's preparing EmuNAND, but can I access my NNID (and my games) on emuNAND?

3) Related to the previous question, I can access eShop and download updates for games that require them on EmuNAND, I suppose?

I'm reallly noob on this whole emuNAND/downgrade thing, so I thank you in advance for any answers.

You will still have access to you NNID on emunand including your games. Yes you will be able to access the eshop if you are on the latest emunand version and you will be able to update most titles from the eshop.

The most safest path to take is use 1 sd card with high storage

I dont think downgrading will result in any loss of data if done correctly. But its best to backup your nand before trying anything.
I believe you will be able to play games with your friends no matter what nand they are on.

I think all you will need to do is be on the latest fw on gateway emunand

So I backed up all my stuff, Sysnand and Sd-Card, then I formated emunand via go.gateway (i don´t own a card). Evverything seemd good, but how do I switch between sysnand and emunand now? And can I just put my Nintendo 3DS back on the SDcard? Because there is alreeady one now :/

Now you need to install rxtools which will be your emunand. note: you will need to use the same sd card that you formated emunand to access emunand.

Edit: everytime you reset or access the settings menu on emunand it will go back to sysnand. so you will have to always launch rxtools through the browser or via mset
