How to easily exit Gateway menu?

I want a way to exit Gateway menu after format EMUNAND/ Restore NAND /Back up game save data / Restore game save data (I don't have GW flashcart, just GW menu thorugh spider exploit). Holding the power button to turn off the 3DS really hurt, if I have to do many times.

Modchip Central is based in Canada and that's where I bought mine. I had no issues with the payment with them. To be honest in the 3DS scene's current situation there's really no reason to buy a Gateway. CFW can do almost everything Gateway can and it's free.

Fixed that ;)

While in the Gateway Menu, you can hold Down on the Directional Pad and Press B to do a quick shutdown.

Hello guys I'm new to the cia games and I a question about the updates.

If a game got multiple updates do you need to install them all or just the latest? Im my case it would be the Smash bros.

Thanks in advance!

When I try to install MSET_EUR.cia using FBI under RXTools EmuNAND (on 9.0E n3DS) I get the following error:

Code:
install failed!
mset_eur.cia
source: SOURCE_APP_WRITE_CIA (0x6)
module: MODULE_NN_NM (0x20)
level: LEVEL_PERMANENT (0x1b)
summary: SUMMARY_INVALID_ARGUMENT (0x7)
description: DESCRIPTION_INVALID_TITLE_VERSION (0x20)

This happens both if I try to install to NAND or SDcard.

I also tried switching to CakeCFW with Emunand AND sysnand... same error :/

I'm using an older version of Rx Tools on a old 3DS XL. I want to delete a installed .cia, should that be done from system settings in emuNAND or sysNAND?

Have you created the "dbs" folder inside the Nintendo 3DS/<id 1>/<id 2> folder on your SD? Create two files called "title.db" and "import.db" inside the "dbs" folder. After that plug your SD back into your 3DS and go to system settings > data management > 3DS > software and allow it to repair the files. Since you're using FBI, you actually need to uninstall the system settings (MSET) title before you can install the downgraded one. On FBI set the destination to NAND and the mode to delete title. The title id for EU MSET is 0x0004001000022000; find the title and delete it. After deleting the MSET, change FBI's mode to install title. Make sure the destination is still set to NAND and install the MSET_EUR.cia. Reboot your 3DS and you should now have the downgraded MSET. Backup your NAND before attempting this! You are modding NAND and if something goes wrong you could brick your 3DS!

If the cia is installed on sysNAND, delete it from sysNAND system settings. If it's installed on emuNAND, delete it from emuNAND system settings. If you never unlinked your NANDs, you can do either.

I have a 2DS (emunand and sysnand)@6.0.0.12U with rxtools 2.6
Is there any way to cold boot to rxtools without having to go to the launch website all the time?
Or is my only choice to update to 9.2 and then use themehax?

Yes, currently themehax is the only way to coldboot CFW.

I think that I don't quite understand the difference between card1 and card2 games yet...

I've read in this thread that card1 games save directly to sd card, whilst card2 games save to the rom. Alright; that seems to be true as I am playing Pokemon ORAS (.3ds) and I'm quite frequently formatting my sd card, although not losing my gamesave.
However, the same is happening to my DKC: Returns .3ds rom (which supposedly is a card1 game); I mean, the save is still there even after I format the SD Card.

I'm probably getting something wrong along the way... Can anyone (try) to explain the difference between them to me?

Anyone? :(

You are correct about the difference; card 1 roms save to SD while card 2 roms save to the rom. The roms can be converted between card 1 and card 2 though, so you might be playing a converted rom.
The Gateway Rom Patcher says it's still a card1 rom though, is it normal even after converting the rom? If so, how can I tell if a rom is converted or not (without, well, testing it)?
By the way, do you know what is the best (easiest) way to convert from card1 to card2?

I'm not sure if the rom patcher's description would change after a conversion; I've never actually converted a rom from card 1 to card 2 personally. This tool can be used to convert card 1 games to card 2; use it at your own risk; again, I've never performed the process personally.

I need to convert my 3ds roms to cia. I tried using rxtools, but it says it couldn't open sdinfo.bin. How do I do this?
The way I do this is by using Decrypt9 and Riku's Simple CIA Converter. Install Python 2.7 on your PC if you haven't already. Drag the rom you want to convert onto the ncchinfo_gen.py script included with Decrypt9 and it will generate a ncchinfo.bin file. Place the ncchinfo.bin file on the root of your SD card. You can launch Decrypt9 through Ninjhax or by placing the launcher.dat on the root of your SD and using the browser to go to go.gateway-3ds.com. When Decrypt9 boots up press A for NCCH Padgen. You may get a message about slot0x25KeyX.bin and seedsdb.bin missing. If you are above 7.X firmware, you can ignore both of these. If you are below 7.X you will need to find slot0x25KeyX.bin online and place it on the root of your SD. After it finishes you can power off your 3DS and place your SD back into your PC. You should now have a bunch of xorpad files on the root of your SD. Copy/cut all of the xorpad files and paste them into the xorpad folder of the CIA converter. Take the rom and place it into the roms folder of the CIA Converter. Run the CIA Converter and select the convert option. If should ask you to select the roms folder, do so. After you select it, it might look like the CIA Converter is not doing anything; wait, it is in the process of converting. After a few minutes the CIA Converter will pop up with a message saying "Finished." Check the cia folder of the CIA Converter and your cia file should be in there. You can now delete the xorpad files and the rom if you no longer want it.

Are you using the gui version? The read me in it says
The following files belong / live / are generated in there:

* slot0x25KeyX.bin
* ncchinfo.bin
* seeddb.bin
* sdinfo.bin
* decTitleKeys.bin
* encTitleKeys.bin
* decTitleKeys_emu.bin
* encTitleKeys_emu.bin
* ticket.db
* ticket_emu.db
Does it matter which one I use?

I'm using the non-GUI one, but it shouldn't matter which one you use. You only need the generated ncchinfo.bin on your SD for xorpad generation (unless you're on less than 7.X firmware, then you need slot0x25KeyX.bin as well).
