Experiencing a very odd problem here:

I recently found out I you can quick reset most games by pressing: L+R+Start+Select

and I've been doing this quite frequently. Occasionally while doing this, my 3DS would freeze at a black screen and I would have to hold down power and restart it.

After my last 'freeze' my 3DS would refuse to boot the game (black screen whenever I started it)

Booting the retail version of the game, exiting to home screen, and then starting the .cia version fixed the problem and now I can launch the .cia again.

Just wondering if there are any known problems with quick reset.

*All this was done in Gateway's EmuNAND v9.0.0-20E, the game in question is Rune Factory 4

Hello, I am currently trying to setup my gateway for my o3ds xl but when once I get to the gateway menu and I press the "Boot Gateway Mode" I just get a black screen, why is that?
I'm on 4.2 btw, thanks.

Which version of GW do you have? The latest?
Have you already formatted emunand?

I downloaded the first link from the official website which is the 3.4 version.
Also I haven't formatted the emunand yet since I can't even access it.

You format emunand with an option the GW menu. Since you said the black screen only happens after trying to boot into GW Mode, then you can access it.
In any case, that doesn't explain why you get a black screen. Even without emunand set up, you should have just gone into GW Mode using sysnand. There shouldn't appear any black screen so it's not normal.

When you get "back to sysnand", try to press select. if the multirom menu opens, you're actually in GW Mode (and emunand if it was set up correctly).

So, I got my hands on a 9.2.0-6E O3DS to mod for a friend, I have a Sky3DS and GW. Problem is, webkit exploit doesn't work on -6 browser, neither Ninjhax... I don't see anywhere a OOT exploit for O3DS, the only one not needing webkit exploit.
Would anyone know if there is a way to launch unsigned code with this configuration ?

Oh damn, you're right I was in GW mode. I just didn't notice since it looked exactly the same as my sysNAND since i just bought it. Anyway, thanks a lot for the help!

go.gateway-3ds.com result in a crash, no loading and ninjhax hangs at 70% (known and normal issue with -6 browser). I'm reading right now https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-upgrading-8-1-0-0j-to-9-2-0-20j.384960/ ; might be a little complex but it should lead to a success if I can manage to boot NTR

That happened to my friend too, he was in firmware 6.1.0.10u, does your firmware end in .10 aswell?
I heard those firmwares don't work with Ninjhax since .10 means it was updated from another game cartridge.

Anyone knows a solution for this? You can't update using games nor going online if this is true

That's only -0 version since it doesn't have the browser installed. There's no other problem with that version you said.
6.1 has browser version -11 so if your friend has -10 version, then yes, it was updated with cartridge and so the browser wasn't updated. But in any case, there shouldn't be any problem since it is supposed to work like that anyway.

Well for some reason I kept trying to launch Ninjhax and it didn't work, it just launches the browser and then crashes

I believe there are a couple firmware/browser version combinations that Ninjhax doesn't work properly on for some reason. Do the other web exploits work on the 3DS (Gateway, rxTools, etc...)?

Gateway worked fine, I could backup his Sysnand and Format the emunand but without the Homebrew launcher from Ninjhax
I can't run FBI installer, Mset or Reinand. Would it be a good idea to tell him to go to a higher firmware using another game cartirdge?

You don't need the Homebrew Launcher if you inject FBI. RxTools has a menu option that lets you inject FBI over the Health & Safety app.
