If you have a 9.2 N3DS Pasta or Gateway works. But you need Cubic Ninja for Pasta. Another option is Sky3DS which I believe works regardless of FW atm.

The only big problem with Pasta is, that CIA get installed to Real System right? so if some CIA is Malware it brick your System?

How about Online Gameplay like Pokemon with Pasta? Need to Block Update DNS on Router again?

one of the big advantages of GW emunand is to protect your sysnand. Not just from bad code but accidental updates as well.


most but not all games can be converted to cia and you are going to need Oot or CN at least once for n3DS well. Pasta holds potential but at this point does not replace all the functionality of GW. Unless you just can't afford it you are currently much better off with a GW.

If you can't find a premade cia of a game you want to try the conversion process takes time, plus the install. .3ds files are just copy over and play. Some members argue that a .3dz file with a private header is safer than cia because Nintendo can see you never purchased the cia version from eshop.

A couple of noob questions for you guys. I have an o3ds with gateway emunand 9.7 and just got a n3ds with firmware 9.0. Just got a sky 3ds so I can use it for cubic ninja. Question is, is there anyway to transfer my streetpass data easily between the two? I would ideally like to do a full system transfer, but too lazy to upgrade o3ds nand to 9.0 then spoof firmware just to do it. If not, would I be able to install emunand 9.0 or 9.5 or whatever to my n3ds and use streetpass safely even if I have to start from scratch?

Looking for a way to downgrade my browser, again. I upgraded my 4.4 3ds browser using Browser Timewarp CIA on SYSNAND, but now I want to get back to my 4.x browser to use Ninjhax. I have 0004009B00014102.cia 0004009B00014202.cia 0004009B00014302.cia from Update CDN. I'm thinking I could just install the 3 from 4.x and be good, but being on SYSNAND, I don't want to screw anything up.

For some reason I cant access Gateway option with the launcher.dat file, it use to work great until today I tried an wasn't successful. I have an o3ds 4.2.0-9U..............

Are you pressing l after launching the exploit?

Try a fresh copy of launcher.dat, you can use 3.2.1

Reformat the SD CARD.

THanks for the quick reply... I did as you say but same thing.. when I go into System Settings, then Other Settings, after Profile, holds "L" while opening "Nintendo DS Profile but nothing jus what suppose to me there. I tried it while holding "L" and without holding "L"

hi all, i just bought a brandnew 3ds and am trying to find out what kind of flashcard i need to buy to play 3DS games on it. so far im totally overwhelmed by all the info.
the version on my 3ds is 8.1 and it came with suer mario bros 2 re-installed i own no other 3ds games.
can someone please tell me exactly what i need to buy, where to get the correct guide for getting that roduct to work and if i should go online to udate my device for it it or stay away from updates?

if i understand correctly from all ive seen so far is that theres 2 otions being gateway flash card or r4 gold deluxe card?

edit: head actually spinning right now after 2 hours of googling straight after coming home with this 3ds.

I saw no one had really responded to your question so I thought I'd answer what I can.
Don't update your system. You're in the sweet spot for firmware, and if you update you might go too far (I think it's up to something like 9.7 now) you won't be able to use a Gateway, to my understanding. I have a Sky3DS and I still keep my system un-updated to be safe (it's on 9.0).

There's basically two options that you can go for. There's other cards but the main two are Gateway and Sky3DS. Pros for Gateway are that it can support homebrew and has a menu, and more functions. But you will need a copy of Ocarina of Time/Cubic Ninja to use it on a New Nintendo 3DS. Pros for Sky are that it's more plug and play, and runs on higher firmware versions, but it doesn't have a menu or homebrew. I wouldn't recommend going online with either card because of the risk of being banned.

The instructions to get both running are online.

Do CIA have unique ID for Online play or not? (Just in Case for Ban) because ROMs need to be patches from what I know (in History)

TY for your reply, gateway card is ordered, trying to find out where to get one of these 2 required games for cheap now.

edit: probably very dumb newbie question but isnt it possible to get these savegames off the device and available for download so people dont actually have to buy or borrow one of these for just a savegame?

I downgraded my console to 4.x, created an emunand, upgraded sysnand by cart to 7.2, and now ninjhax doesn't work. From what I can find the cartridges don't include browser updates? How do I get ninjhax working again?

Ive installed the gateway setup before the card slot got broken, but it was jus the gateway menu
