AFAIK, they look like this.. It's not a stamp.. Or if it is, you can clearly check it without damaging the box at all.

snip

But I'm almost sure it was different, there wasn't "SW", only numbers. Maybe I've overlooked it. Well, I'll find the right one eventually.
Thanks btw. :)

Only thing I could suggest is selling your current 3DS and buying an older 4.5 model off of eBay. Assuming you don't have any retailers in your area that have the consoles behind a glass window so you can check the serials.

No XLs, unless i want to go with pink. Also Ebay sell them for 300$, no thanks. I'll just keep an eye out for used 3ds XLs at ebgames and microplay.

Do they really? It was only $250 last I checked in late December. Either 4.5 systems are getting really scarce really quick, or eBay sellers are feeding off desperation big time.

How do I uninstall gateway? like remove all the exploit in the system and stuff because I want to do a system reset. I have emunand installed as well, how do I remove that and make the SD card whole again instead of halved?

To remove the exploit simply start a DS mode cart. (the gateway blue/launcher/exploit card suffices).

To get rifd of the emuNANd repartitoion your SD card or use the panasonic SD formater with the size adjustment option turned on.

So basically I can just format the SD card.
Is there a way to remove the exploit without starting a ds mode cart, can I just format the system? My microSD broke so I can't really move the exploit files, the blue gateway card without microSD doesn't work...

You can just format the system.

A plain format will not change the partitioning of the card, thus leaving the emuNAND untouched and the size of the fat partition unchanged. You need to repartition it either by hand or by using sd formaters adjust size feature.

Guys, what Memory Card Class do I need? Class 4 or Class 10? Is there any difference for Getaway?

Some of us have taken a few stopwatch benchmarks some time ago.

As of yet (no way to tell if this will change in the future) there is no discernible difference between class 4 and 10 for the microSD while being used in the Gateway, one only notices speed improvements on the computer (and oh boy, there they can be huge).

In regards to the SD card in the 3DS the differences were significant, about 15-ish percent IIRC, although that translated to only about 4 seconds longer for booting from a class 4.

In conclusion: in both cases size is way more important than speed: the SD in the 3DS should at least be 4 GB (if you should ever plan to download stuff from the eshop or record pictures/videos 2 GB would just not be enough), the microSD for the Gateway at least 8GB to fit the biggest games [technically you can used a 4GB at the moment when you trim the roms, but that will most likely change in the future), if you can afford it and want to use multirom a 32GB would be way better.

Only reasons (as said as of yet) to get faster cards is the higher speed on the computer, the relatively small price difference (class 4 vs. class 10 should only be about 4 bucks) and the hope that one can use a faster card for another usage scenario down the road once one doesn't use the 3DS/Gateway anymore.

I just ordered a 4.5.0-10U black 3DS off ebay for way less than that. Write up a question and then copy and paste that to every nice looking 3DS you can find on there, Amazon as well. Send the seller an email. I've had at least 50% of the people I message at least respond, but I only found one person with 4.5.0-10U. That is if he is honest, they were willing to send a picture when he got home later today, but I didn't want to risk someone else buying it. They have a lot of feedback and sell a lot of video game stuff so I trust them.

I kept reading on here to just keep looking for used and asking the seller what firmware it was on. Indeed that worked out for me...if it is indeed 4.5

I guess you got a usa non-xl black 3ds as I believe all the usa black 3ds xl were at least firmware 5.0. I hope it works out.

Working off the fact that nobody answered my question A, Im going to assume there is no method of getting emunand 3ds eshop full game save data into a .sav for use with the gateway.

Now, Im working to trying to get my 3ds region free. Im planning to pick up a sub v4.5 3ds from gamestop later this week or next (they claimed over the phone that they still have systems from launch?) but I heard that Acekard 2i no longer is supported and is patched after 4.3. I need a reccomendation as to what cheap ds flashcart I can get that will work with the 3ds up to 4.5. I might just get an acekard 2i If I can find a 3ds that has 4.3 or 4.2. Network filtering blocks the recommendation sheet. Really stupid.

And another question. If you need to format emuNAND for some reason, can you redownload games purchased before the format?

No, there's not.

Yes, they're bound to your system's ID, not saved to the NAND.

Why is it when I play ds games using the blue card, the top screen's black is darkish green in color? It's really noticable. I think this is not a problem when I play 3ds games (blacks are black). I was afraid that it had something to do with the fact that my 3ds xl is a refurbished one but then again the left and right border is perfectly black compared to the game screen. Any help?

Does it do it with all games, or just specific one's? Does it do it with retail DS cartridges?

All games. Basically blacks are dark green. I haven't tried any retail cartridges yet since I don't have any.

Well try a regular cart if you can pick one up, if it still persists, you'll know it's your system. I'm not really sure what else could be causing this, besides maybe the Flashcard firmware.

Okay. Thanks for the advice. It's really weird since my 3ds is perfectly capable of producing blacks. And another issues I'm having is bravely default's opening fmv looks really bad. I was thinking it's my screen but everything is fine aside from that so...

It was 280 USD + Shipping (I'm in Canada) = 300~$ a used 3ds XL here is 150$, they buy it for 90$. I dont mind paying 40-60$ + 70$ for the cart. But 300-90+70 = 280$ to hack my 3ds, no thanks. Maybe i'm better off waiting for a lucky 3ds XL to pop here, it getting hacked and maybe look into getting a hacked ps3 instead since i have played 1 PS3 games so far.
