How can I know if everything was installed correctly? I followed the instructions in 3DS.guide

On Wii I could do a Syscheck and it would tell me what modified version of ios it had on the console

    • Check if you can access in any moment to Luma's config menu (pressing SELECT on boot)
    • Check if you can access to Rosalina Menu (pressing L+Down+SELECT on Home Menu)
    • Check if you can access to GodMode9 (pressing START on boot)
Yes. It shows the "Sys" string (instead of "Ver" string) aside of FW version. For example: Sys 11.13.0-45U

But it must have activated the "Show NAND or user string on System Settings" option on Luma's config menu

    Thanks for the info.

    • Check if you can access in any moment to Luma's config menu (pressing SELECT on boot) (YES)
    • Check if you can access to Rosalina Menu (pressing L+Down+SELECT on Home Menu) (YES)
    • Check if you can access to GodMode9 (pressing START on boot) (YES)
    • It shows the "Sys" string (instead of "Ver" string) aside of FW version. (YES)

    I have the version installed
    Sys 11.2-35U

    Perfect :yay3ds:

Now check the Luma's version (either from Luma's Config Menu or Rosalina Menu), and if you have 9.1 and above, then update your console directly from the internet (throught "System Settings")

So I have a few questions concerning the 3DS...

    1. So, I was thinking about upgrading my Boot9Strap installation into FastBoot3DS; however, I'm still kinda on the fence. What are the advantages of having FastBoot3DS over Boot9Strap, and does FastBoot3DS have any functions that Boot9Strap doesn't have? Conversely, are there any advantages to having Boot9Strap instead of FastBoot3DS, and are there any features that Boot9Stap has that FastBoot3DS doesn't? Finally, if I DO upgrade to FastBoot3DS, is there any way to downgrade back into Boot9Strap if I find I don't like it?

    2. So I have a DSi that has some DSiWare on it that I want to transfer over to my 3DS. I downloaded the "3DS Transfer Tool" onto the DSi, but when I go to transfer the DSiWare, the only one that shows up is the "Transfer Tool" itself, which tells me I can't transfer because it's "Not available on the 3DS eShop yet..." Am I missing something, or is it no longer possible to transfer software from a DSi to a 3DS?

    3. This query's more of an interesting observation. So my brother gave me permission to temporarily transfer my 3DS data onto his 3DSXL so I could get a game that was pre-installed onto it registered to my account, since he said he would never play it. I do it, and all my pirated software disappears, as expected. However, the one thing that shows up afterwards is the Homebrew Channel Launcher, which I found a bit strange, but chalked it up to the fact that either both our 3DSes already had it installed, or that it was a function of the Rosalina sub-menu of Luma3DS (Both our 3DSes are hacked, btw). In any case, I don't think anything of it. Anyways, after a week goes by, I transfer my stuff back onto my own original 3DS. To my surprise, ALL of my pirated software shows back up; re-wrapped like presents and out-of-order, but still undeniably there. Does Luma3DS preserve ticket data even after a system format, or is there something else going on here?

Also BONUS QUESTION (that has nothing to do with hacking, but I'm posting it here since I don't know where else to put it...):

So I was on the 3DS eShop the other day, when I noticed that Monster Hunter Stories was on sale for 50% off ($19.99). I then realized that My Nintendo ALSO had a coupon for the same game for 30% off ($27.99). I've been wanting to get this game for a while now, but I'm kinda on the fence about if this is the best time to get it or not. So my question is: Do the discounts stack? And if so, how would they stack? Would it be a total of 80% off the full price ($7.99!), or only 30% off the already discounted price ($13.99)? I strongly believe it's the latter. Regardless, if they DO stack, I don't believe I'll ever have another chance to get this game for that cheap again. Any answers you give would be appreciated!

    1. Fastboot3DS is a little different. It has a more flexible chainloader (hold different buttons on power on for different payloads), can do NAND backup/restore and shows a nice menu opposed to B9S which is "just" a bootloader. You can replace B9S with Fastboot3DS and vice versa. This is not a question of up/downgrade. I would not call one better than the other.
Put fastboot3DS.firm into SD:/luma/payloads and you should be able test it with Luma chainloader without installing it (yet).

    2. That sounds a bit strange. Transfer should still be possible (but I did it about a year ago, so I'm not sure). What does not transfer are preinstalled titles like Flipnote Studio and Brainage. Only titles bought before the DSi Shop was discontinued can be moved to a 2|3DS because… Nintendo.

    3. I didn't try this with a transfer but a normal "Format System Memory" does not delete tickets (at least if they are not tied to a NNID).

    Bonus question:
    ? No idea?
Why don't you just visit the eShop and go to the screen for purchasing the game (using that coupon – however that works). They have to tell you how much money they want to pay before you touch "Buy".

    Good luck and have fun!

Greetings! Could you help me, please?

I have a very old 3DS I didn't touch since the beginning. Now, I decide to hack it. It's using firmware version (2.2.0-0U). So I followed this guide https://3ds.hacks.guide/installing-boot9strap-(soundhax) and I'm stuck at trying making Soundhax to work.

When I touch play button for "< 3 nedwill 2016" It just keeps saying 3DS Sound "Couldn't play it". I've tried a hundred times and nothing changes.

I'm sure I followed the guide exactly as I should and copied the necessary files to my 32GB SD Card (verified with h2testw and FAT32 formated using guiformat).

That's because apparently you don't have a valid (compatable with SoundHax method) version of "Nintendo 3DS sound" app (I said it because the "-0" of your console version).

Then, you perharps should update your console to the latest version (11.13) directly from the net and later use the USM method

Thanks. I've read other related topics in this forum and people comment about seedminer method. Should I stick with this browserhax-2020 instead of seedminer?

Just try with that I indicated to you, because is so much easy and quick.

Seedminer is not necesarilly for now (only use it if you have any kind of problem with the browserhax-2020)

    Hello.
I tried using the homebrew guide on my Japanese 3DS browserhax 2020
When I got to the step to B9S reboot, I pressed a button and my machine turned off. Now, it flashes blue light only.
I tried using Luma 7.1 and 10.2, any advice?

Luma 7.1 is not required here, ever!

Check again the SD card format (remember that should be FAT32) and check you are using the indicated files from the guide (mainly, the "boot.firm" from Luma 10.2 on the SD's root).

7.1 is only ever required if someone is still on b9s v1.0 or v1.1 as the more recent b9s dont work with those.

    Obviously, I know!

I didn't recommend to use it. In fact, I said "is not required, ever" having in account the method used by @bixcoita

I have an old 3DS running Gateway Emunand 10.7.0 (sysnand 4.2.0) and I'd like to transfer the games and saves to another 3DS currently on stock 11.9.0. What would be my best option?

EDIT: I was able to do this by installing Luma and running godmode9. The existing emunand was picked up without issue.
