What is the reason for splitting some CIAs into two parts?

Do I install them as normal, one after the other and it creates one game?

are they rar or 7z files? if so, just have the two parts in the same folder, extract part one, it will extract both into one cia
if they are both CIA files and not rar files, then one may be an update.
but if you see
part1
part2
then follow the steps i listed above.

Suddenly my N3DS XL stopped booting with the SD card. Black, unlit screen. If I removed it, it would still boot into godmode 9. The only stupid thing I might have done was using Nintendo Badge Arcade. Luckily it was something related to the flashcard, and after removing and reinserting it I got the 3DS to boot again and everything seems normal now.

Well, my question is: is Nintendo Badge Arcade really safe? I've read about this app here on temp forums and it seemed like it's safe to use as long as I don't cheat or share information with Nintendo, but after this little incident I'm not so confident anymore.

its fine yes. a black screen is not something you would get from ninty from that app,

i have the guide and the 11.5.0-38U_ctrtransfer_n3ds.zip file.
is there any benefits to downgrading a n2ds xl to 11.5?
i read that the stock new 2ds xl firmware is 11.4,
i bought mine new with 11.6.
if no benefits, reasons?

unfortunately, i cant get 11.2

No benefit at all to downgrading. It is only useful to be on a lower firmware for B9S installation (have more options) but once you have B9S you'd want to be on the latest.

i just installed etrian odyssey nexus (USA) and its DLC (including paid DLC)
(all from a website)
i was hoping someone could refresh my memory.
i read something about if you go into eshop, all your dlc will be deleted?
someone else said that only happens if the nnid is linked in the nand? or something?
is there a way to unlink it and everything cfw and online features still work just fine?
if skipping all that,
will i have to install my dlc again every time i go into the eshop?

On 11.3 or less you can install straight with homebrew, not needing to worry about the other stuff. On 6.x and 4.x you have the option of doing it completely offline with a DS flashcart, and on 2.x or less you can install it with a copy of Cubic Ninja.

i wasn't thinking of that as new 2ds xl stock is at 11.4 and when i had a 3ds, multiple over the years, i wasn't into the cfw scene.
im in an on-going custody battle with my brain-cells.

I believe what happens is if you have ever gotten any DLC legitimately (whether free or paid) the eShop remembers what DLC you're meant to have and deletes any you're not entitled to. But if you never got any legitimately then the eShop won't check what you have and not delete it.

i thought freeshop was only available up to 11.2?

because they changed the way tickets were checked.

so that means that freeshop should still work with older games released/available from the date of the 11.8 update back, if below said firmware version,

No, freeShop is broken on all versions, forever.

They required that game downloads and send the servers your ticket. Old firmware versions won't do that and the download is disallowed. If you send a fake ticket you won't be allowed to download and probably will be banned.

now they require that 2 new private headers are to be sent to the server along with the titleid,
x-authentication-data and x-authentication-data key (AES)

It stopped when the current firmware was 11.8 but it affected all firmwares. I'm not sure why first party games stopped working first, but if you read through the freeShop thread people probably discussed it and you can find out there.

What is the point in using the .3gx version of Nanquitas' CTRPlugin and does it ONLY support .3gx plugins? If so, where are they? I have not been able to find a single .3gx plugin anywhere.

Using badda's Luma3DS 9.1 mod with an older version(0.4 I think it was) of CTRP that support .plg somewhat worked. UltraSuMo framework worked, but not any other NTR .plg that I have. On that note, did I do something wrong because I need to restart the n3ds every time I wish to play a different game with ntr selector? Well I just noticed that using CTRP breaks the nub functionality, and only way to make it work is with inputredirection via Rosalina. Doing so freezes the system when put in sleep mode. Any way to fix this?

With Rosalina having built in cheat support, is there really any benefit to using NTR/CTRP? Aside from games like Ever Oasis where I could only find NTR files for.

And last question , I just found a new app called Sharkive, is that the best to use for general cheat plain text downloads?

Yes, you can install CFW directly with homebrew. If you update it there's a little bit more work. Have a look at https://3ds.guide
