Once you have CFW you can install any 3DS game you like (barring N3DS-only titles on old 3DS).

Ah nice, as long as I know what I need and there are guides to follow I should make it there.
Though I still got to ask, what's up with the price difference from R4I-B9S card to the others such as Gateway?

Gateway is a 3DS flashcart. You can't use it to install CFW.

Oh, so the CFW is installed on the Micro SD card that goes into the R4I-B9S card, not into the 3DS console itself?
Also, if it doesn't allow CFW, sounds like you end up paying more just to get yourself more limited then... kind of weird.

Cfw is installed to the 3ds console. The r4i is only used to install it. Gateway was at one point the only option, but now it's pretty much useless.

no all your games will be fine ( . . . assuming you use any method other than dsiware)

r4ids[dot]cn is printed on the card, which I did check out and I could not find any recent downloads, but their main page claims the card supports the version I'm on. There is a link that brings me to their news section and not much else except for 2014 downloads

I think it's the newest wood kernel from 2013 that you want. You can try it at least.

holy hell, so the site printed on the cart didnt have the update but nds-card did. thank you for replying and I'll probably return to this board when I feel comfortable with homebrews

Guys is R4i-SDHC-3DS RTS 2017 or their R4i-SDHC B9S better? I am going to do ctrboothax. Both chips are from r4i-sdhc

The R4i-SDHC 3DS RTS has a timebomb.
The R4i-SDHC B9S is a preflashed R4i-SDHC 3DS RTS, so not only does it have the downside of a timebomb, but it also has the "drawbacks" of a pre-flashed flashcart (a point that can be argued by people mind you)
Also, note that the R4i-SDHC 3DS RTS and the R4iSDHC.com family of flashcarts are nearly identical, take that however you want

TL;DR I tried to copy pkmn moon from one sd to another, larger one and this made the save incompatible. I contacted FAQs and Nintendo directly, they all tell me to delete save. This is not an option.

I have a flashcart and I have loaded in all the cfw from the 3ds guide. I now have my pokemon save on one sd and the cfw stuff on another. I have tried dragging and dropping the files from one card to the other, to no avail. I tried to copy some cfw stuff onto the pokemon sd, to no avail. I downloaded moon onto the cfw card and then moved the old files to it, to no avail.

1) Where does Pokemon Moon store the 'save' on a legally downloaded copy?
2) How do I get this to a new SD where I could export the save?
3) How do I find which save to export in savedatafiler, and where do I then find the exported save?
BONUS) How do I make the save data and device version match to recover the save?

The saves are in the Nintendo 3DS folder, you need to copy the whole folder (delete the Nintendo 3DS folder on the other SD card before copying it over). Or, use JKSM to export the save on one console, copy the JKSM folder to the other console, and import the save.

Hello, I've been reading guides and etc for the last few days and I have come to the conclusion that I am not prepared to solder my 2DS due to not being great at it I have been reading into getting a flash cart and of course being recommended by every site to purchase "R4i Gold 3DS Plus" but I am from the UK and I cannot find a UK supplier of this? Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough but I have come across this site r4ds-uk I was wondering if any of these would be the same or as good to CFW my 2DS. Just so you know I am running 11.6.39e. Thank you for any help that anyone can provide.
