Did something major change again with Luma, or has there just not been a significant update? I have Luma Updater 2.1.2 running v 8.1.1-f6483ec, it says the latest hourly is a74d9c6 but it tells me "You cannot install the latest hourly at this time." My system version is 11.4.0-37U and apparently that's inadequite to use online features in pokemon anymore.
Go to System Settings and update. Luma version is not the same as system version.

So the latest update won't butcher all my hacks? It was my understanding that was the sole purpose of system updates at this point?
Only for people that haven't installed CFW yet. And anyway all exploits needed for 11.4 (dsiware, ntrboot, hardmod) work on all higher firmwares too.

I'm embarrassed to ask, how do I know if I have installed CFW? I'm good at following guides but not so much at understanding the hacks.
edit, Custom firmwware, I feel stupid... I knew that...

Unrelated to my previous posts, is there a simple way of adding items to or otherwise modifying Pokemon Sun/Moon save data yet? The last time I looked the method I found was fairly complex and required networking, it seemed not worth the trouble at the time. Would be great if there was something I could just run out of The Homebrew Launcher.

Have a look at PKSM. You can find it in FBI titledb

You need to place safeb9sinstaller into luma payloads. When you do that you will see both the payloads to choose from. and no that sdcard cleanup is option if ya want.

Is there any way to remove this cfw and returned to original firmaware
Why do you want to do that? You risk bricking. You'll want to have a ntrboot capable flashcart if that happens so you can fix it

Is that the Pokémon Sun & Moon one? It should be fine if brand new unopened, they were made a long time ago and not reprinted as far as I know. Worst case scenario you have to buy a ntrboot capable flashcart.

Its for a present so timing is kind of a problem, hence hoping for the soundhaxable version ^^
Yes, its the sun and moon one, so probably it should be ok then :)

Thank you @Quantumcat :)
