OK so I have a question, since I added a new SD card, I can't use the sound hex to launch homebrew launcher. I keep getting an error that tells me to restart the device. I had my 4 gig card that originally came with the device modded last night and now I reinstalled 11.2 on it like it originally had so I can use my 32 gig SD card. Can someone help me out. H2testw says the card has no errors. Should I just update the Luma cfw and copy the stuff from the 4 gig to the 32 gig? I wanted to use the 32 card but now when I boot the 3ds with the card, it flashes blue? I don't know what I did. It doesn't seem to flash when I have the 4 gig SD card in.

If you installed luma, then your normal *hax will not work. You would want to use rosalina to inject a rarely used app with the hbl and use that or you can install the hbl cia and use that for using hb.

It sounds like you need to put the boot.firm file onto your SD card root which is found within recent luma3DS.7z files from the guide.

I'm reinserted my Nand again back to 11.2 and now have the same issue, hbl (soundhex) doesn't work. Should I start from the part where I update my luma cfw?
I want to know what I did though for it not to work, maybe it had something to do with the 3 times when I inserted the card and flipped opened up the system the Luma3DS configuration menu with nothing checked but I didn't mean to open that menu up when I put the back on.

The easiest way to solve your issue is to copy-paste all the files from the 4gb card to the 32gb one

You can continue using the 3ds exactly as you did with the old card

What do you mean? Do you have a region changed emuNAND or something?

If you mean that you are just taking the SD card out and putting it in another console - that will never work. The game installations and saves are encrypted per console. If you want to use the data in another console you have to system transfer, but that's impossible between consoles of different regions. If you want to extract the save data you have to get JKSM on the console the game is installed on.

RpwNG (if is it what you guys are talking about) is indeed accessible, however i don't get everything about it.

What is the finite goal ? Simple homebrew access with no CFW on my oDS? Would that be enough to use a simple save manager ?

Basically you want to use RPwnG as a entrypoint to load homebrew, with that there is a homebrew version of JK's Save Manager as the .3dsx, you will be able to use that to extract the save file from that system to import to the other.

I've tried to use JKSM to backup my save files before switching from reinand(menuhax) to b9s (currently i can't access emunand, but i can access the homebrew menu).

However JKSM only finds my cartridge and system apps (and i can't install it on emunand since i can't access it).
Am i missing something?

Go ahead and install b9s, you can access your emuNAND after you have Luma.

Hi, after doing a bit of reading and getting my head around things. I'd just like to confirm that the I am following the right path.

I want to CFW a new 2DS XL. (no flashcart). My friend is allowing me to borrow his old 3DS which is on 11.2.0-35e. So following the 3ds.guide website, it is my understanding that I need to do the soundhax method, then install boot9strap and finalise.

From here I should be able to system update the old 3ds to 11.5 to match the new 2DS XL. After this, I can follow 3ds.guide (dsiware injection), as the source 3ds is now on CFW.

At what point should I purchase/download Fieldrunners or similar game from the list?

Also I presume it would be best to change the logged in NNID on the source Nintendo to my own. That way when I give my friend his old 3DS back, he can log back in with his details and use it as normal.

You can buy the game on the source console whenever, it doesn't matter.

You cannot sign into your NNID on his console it has to be linked on Nintendo's servers (You will be able to sign into HIS on your 2DSXL after the process). When you do the dsiwarehax, BOTH of your NNIDs with be linked to your N2DSXL and since transfers only work one way with OLD>NEW, the only way to get your NNID separate again is to call Nintendo and have them unlink them from the systems. Be warned that if they suspect anything wonky ( like calling 5 mins after a transfer) Nintendo CAN refuse to move the NNID. That doesn't mean they will, but they 100% can.

So before you do it, make sure your friend is ok with potentially losing his NNID on his own console.

Ok so the process I mentioned is fine. Its just sorting out the NNID.

So I presume it will be better to just transfer it, wait a week, ask Nintendo to unlink the NNID, then login in with my NNID to the New 2DS
