Why are we allowed to link to 3ds.guide, which hosts for example CtrTransfer images, but aren't allowed to link to the images directly.

Issac Hey, I saw your question in a report regarding mentioning certain sites.
You can give a vague hint regarding those sites, just not name them straight out (or link them). Like "that iso site" is OK, but naming it isn't.
The guide on the other hand do we have discussions about how to handle. To be on the safe side you could just say "that 3ds guide" and people should understand

Got myself a new 3ds xl today to replace one where the should button was not working anymore. Nice little thing came with 11.2 ofw. When I go through the guide. I read that there was a part of the install where the system could brick if put in sleep mode. Is that a thing of only happening during that part of the install or does that remain afterwards once everything is said and done for getting cfw loaded?

It's only during the steps when you are on 2.1.0. After you finish the guide, it is safe to put the system in sleep mode.

If you follow exactly what it says you'll have no issue. You only need the firmware.bin temporarily to boot into 4.x, after that you will update and can delete it.

Hi! I have been stressing over getting Pokemon Moon online to work.

I'm using a O3DS is on OFW 4.5 and I'm currently using gateway still since I haven't used my console in awhile. I managed to update the emunand it to 11.0 instead of 11.4 since gateway doesn't support 11.4. However, trying to go online throws up an error 002-0119 which from I read around requires me to update to the latest firmware to be able to go online. As gateway doesn't support 11.4, I obviously can't do that.

Is there any way to get around this and go online on firmware 11.0? Or is the only bet to wait for the gateway to come out with support for 11.4? (which from the front page of this forum looks like will be very soon).

I read that the current popular CFW is using the A9LH thing and have seen many links to the guide posted over there. Will that solve this error? Should I be updating to that? Though honestly, whilst many have called the process very simple, being a very casual user, the amount of terms thrown around in that guide and steps needed to make it work seems highly complicated to me (a noob like me could only handle gateway because you just had to follow some pictures and learn about 2 terms sysnand and emunand and that was basically it). I'm worried that it won't work well for me and I may brick my console since I don't understand many of the warning posted since they use unfamilar terms.

I'd install a9lh. If you are concerned about any step, just ask here.
