To be honest, I also was confused by your explanation on the previous site that you were "installing Decrypt9" but "installed arm9 first" and that you fell asleep during some "download".

I only put those titles because i didn't wanna be specific plus it's just a title. But yes i did fell asleep during the process of the arm9 downloading and my 3ds did die while i was sleeping and it did turn off. That's what i was saying but at least you got it tho lol.

If it will quell everyone mind, here is what happened.

She was following the instructions for CTRNAND transfer. It was 6AM, i assume she was tired being up all night. During the instructions to perform the Downgrade to 2.1 she had started the process, but then fell asleep after waiting so long, she did not have her system charging, the battery died, she woke up at 1P, I was still sleep at the time. I woke up at 5PM, when i got her message, she did explain what happened. I assumed the downgrade finished and just the battery died. HER SYSTEM WAS NOT BRICKED. She simply need to remove sd card to boot system and reinsert it to continue, (AS INSTRUCTED IN THE GUIDE)

After she understood that, she finally finished the proper installation and now has Luma CFW and freeshop as she desired.

I had this under control. Because i wasn't here and she woke up in panic, she was stress and confused, she had pressure she did something wrong. So please forgive her statements as she did not quite calm down to properly continue with safet instructions.

Is this over now please? Important part is that she has cfw and freeshop, but she could have consulted the guide for instructions of any problems as it does have FAQ and troubleshoot notes, as well as maybe stated her comments here better to get proper help while i wasn't here waiting for me. :ninja:

@HinaNaru Cutie
You used very confusing terminology that made zero sense and were incredibly unclear and self contradictory and I totally sympathise with anybody who got a bit short with you. And I congratulate @Sonic Angel Knight helping you despite your attitude and clear lack of English. Most noobs are happy to do what they are told and not get angry at users who try to help them (cough @Distrance cough)

Admittedly I was unnecessarily rude but her attitude triggered me, especially the part where she said that I don't know what I'm talking about while spouting nonsense herself :rolleyes:. And based on the other thread I just could smell a brick happening .. In that thread we specifically told her to read 3ds.guide and not use video guides yet in this thread she links to one .. Sorry but not sorry HinaNaru, though I'm sorry if I offended anyone else on this forum.

She did mention editing post, but i'm not sure what was edited since i just been in this thread for 10 minutes. She didn't mean to offend anyone, and she didn't follow a video guide, she just used it for visual reference since is not easy to visualize what isn't seen. The fact the video is linked is misleading i know but she only just looked for reference, she did use the guide as instructed. I am also sure she meant no offense but also tried to seek help in my absence, had i been here when she messaged me, it would be all avoided dragging others into this mess, or she read the guide properly but i wasn't so i can't really apologize for sleeping as she also did the same.

Had i waitied for her return i would also had no sleep and wouldn't been tired to do proper handeling of the situation. Since she did admit she slept and woke up at 1PM i also was asleep. :P

Is it possible to remove every trace of a typical 3ds.guide hack? Or will there always be something left behind, like with Wii hacking?

I feel like I am missing something obvious (and I probably am!) I went through the guide and have cfw on my system and everything seems to be fine.

Can I make a copy of a 3DS game now to store on the SD card so I can stop carrying so many cards around? Is there a guide for that somewhere I just overlooked?

so how would one do that? is there a guide and is it safe?
You can create an emuNAND using emuNAND9 (an arm9 payload accessed like Hourglass9 etc). You might be able to do it with Hourglass9 as well. Then, hold Select on boot to get Luma settings, and choose an option that will let you get into emuNAND (the night be one where you can hold a key on boot to get into emuNAND instead of sysNAND). Then you can install different games on emuNAND. You will want to format one of them probably, otherwise you get the unwrapping bug.

Decrypt9 can dump cartridges to CIAs, which you can then install on your system. Install Decrypt9 like you did with Hourglass9.

Yes, you'll have to switch between emuNAND and sysNAND.

That's right. You want to make an SD card backup first, and restore it afterward.
