Yes, if you want to play anything released in 2015 or later you will need to update. If you followed the guide though you should have updated already.

i now have 3 a9lh installed consoles, should i let them system update to 11.2 ASAP ? Once upgraded there is no way back except restoring nand backup using d9?

So I found out I can delete the files but I have run into another problem where all of my downloaded games aren't showing up.

You upgraded from your backup? If you did then you should have all of your data intact.

Have a look on your SD card and PC for NANDmin.bin and put it in the files9 folder. If you can't find it you can do a 9.2 CTR transfer but you may lose some data.

I once again was able to figure out how to fix this. Just had to recopy files from my backed up Nintendo 3ds folder.
Does anyone know a way to delete garbage data from the sd card? I don't want to mess anything up but there are some games on the SD card that aren't on my ds.

Settings->Software->3DS software. Games that are greyed out won't show up on the home menu and you should probably delete them.

Hold Start on boot to open Hourglass9. Choose sysNAND options and there should be an option to backup your sysNAND.

I got my n3dsxl all ready. Now I just need to download the games. I was using a cheap 8gb SD card to flash the ds but I'll get a bigger one now that it's ready. So my question is did the SD card capacity remain at 32gb or was that expanded during flash?

It's always been higher than 32 it just depends on the formatting. SD Cards need to be formatted in FAT32 to be compatible with the 3DS

Did you put it in your files9 folder? If so, maybe it's corrupted. You can still do a 9.2 CTR transfer (I assume you are trying to restore your system from 2.1?)
