FBI and system settings work fine
The problem is I don't know what to do. I can enter FBI but it just lets me surf my files, I have no idea what to do and don't want to delete the wrong thing.

are you using FBI 2.x? use "Titles", not "SD".The problem is I don't know what to do. I can enter FBI but it just lets me surf my files, I have no idea what to do and don't want to delete the wrong thing.
Realized my mistake there just now yeah, was in SD before. So Titles -> Select <Game> -> Delete Title is enough?are you using FBI 2.x? use "Titles", not "SD".
or, use system settings?

Thanks, don't even get time to edit my posts with you, superfast!
you need to do the rest past homebrew if you want to "play backups" or do piracy. stopping at the first part doesn't really get you much.
no, this is why you downgrade, and set up custom firmware. You see, I knew I was missing something! So the Homebrew launcher cannot by itself launch games (in CIA-format from the SD-card)?
do this: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/9.2.0-Update-(Browser-OTP)Also, I just powered on my new store-bought O3DS, and it's on Ver. 2.1.0-4E. Does this mean I'm screwed and have to buy a specific game to update to version 9.2.0?

you'll need a game, but you can skip many of the steps and get straight to arm9loaderhax.
You need a 4.X or 6.X game cartridge. Use 3dsdb.com to find one.Thank you for your help. So this (https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/9.2.0-Update-(rxTools-2.5.2)) is not a way to upgrade to 9.2.0 without using a game cart?
there's no way to update from 2.1 without a game card. also make sure you get your console's OTP first before anything using the guide I linked to.Thank you for your help. Don't. In fact, you're very lucky. You can install A9LH without all the annoying [and potentially risky] downgrading.Thank you for your help. So this (https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/9.2.0-Update-(rxTools-2.5.2)) is not a way to upgrade to 9.2.0 without using a game cart?
but you do need to update using a game card eventually. no cfw can run 2.1 FIRM. the only way is getting OTP, updating to 9.2, and installing a9lh from there.Don't. In fact, you're very lucky. You can install A9LH without all the annoying [and potentially risky] downgrading.
Correct. Someone ought to port sysupdater to 2.1- I don't see why it couldn't be done, we have an arm9 exploit and the FIRM rewrite doesn't really matter in that regard, right?but you do need to update using a game card eventually. no cfw can run 2.1 FIRM. the only way is getting OTP, updating to 9.2, and installing a9lh from there.
I await for your release of this, thanks for helping the dev community make progress. :^)Correct. Someone ought to port sysupdater to 2.1- I don't see why it couldn't be done, we have an arm9 exploit and the FIRM rewrite doesn't really matter in that regard, right?
I think the bigger issue is trying to get it to boot at all. Nintendo "rewrote" FIRM with 3.0, so new patches need to be made with pre-3.0 FIRMs. primarily signature and FIRM write protection.Correct. I don't quite understand. Mind explaining a bit more, please? This is the question thread, after allI think the bigger issue is trying to get it to boot at all. Nintendo "rewrote" FIRM with 3.0, so new patches need to be made with pre-3.0 FIRMs. primarily signature and FIRM write protection.
we can't boot 2.1 from cfw, at least when trying to patch things to it. signature, FIRM write protection, NAND redirection (emu/rednand), all of these would have to be re-made for 2.1.I don't quite understand. Mind explaining a bit more, please? This is the question thread, after all![]()
Of course not. But what about writing a new FIRM to it? What makes that more difficult?we can't boot 2.1 from cfw, at least when trying to patch things to it. signature, FIRM write protection, NAND redirection (emu/rednand), all of these would have to be re-made for 2.1.
I'm not sure I understand. trying to use a different FIRM to boot? I don't think the old software (home menu, etc) would still boot.Of course not. But what about writing a new FIRM to it? What makes that more difficult?
