Finally my gateway arrived, and soon a hardware mod will be installed on my 3ds xl. Some thinking unveiled another question i couldn´t yet solve by myself.
i do know that your own dumps can work online if renamed to 3dz. I also know that if you take a scene dump, you can make it work online by editig the rom file and providing the missing stuff like a proper header and ID. But the question is - if i was to play Mario Kart online for example. I have the retail 1.0 cartridge and successfully dumped both the game and its save to microSD / SD respectively. it does work, my savegame is being recognized by the game. But if i were to play online, i´d need to download the patch. emuNAND doesnt allow access to eshop yet, but i´d be able to use my hardware mod to get the patch for my retail game, then downgrade back to 4.x and use my dumped 7.2 nand as emunand. Thus, i have the update for the game. Now what about games i dont have the retail cartridge availiable? A friend of mine currently borrowed my Pokemon X. I have a 3dz dump of it. But i don´t have downloaded the patches yet. Is there a way to download a patch for a game you don´t have in physical form? or do i have to wait until weekend until i get my PokeX cartridge back?
