How would I get GodMode9 to run through a9lh aureinand? Since the HB launcher doesnt work anymore with kernal access homebrew, how would I do this?

Install the homebrew launcher cia and launch godmode9 through that.

Question about figuring out what my private header number/letter combination is. I know its supposed to be 32 chars long. And after completing Part III of Injecting a Private Header", where I had to use the bin file and the sky3ds+ template file. I notice that in the template file I see the CTR-X-XXXX (With the X representing other letters, which I assume I'm not supposed to give out) which matches the game card I backed up using the gateway launcher. Is my bin number/letter combination in there? Like right before all those double FFs and right after those double 00s?? Its sandwiched between those. I notice if I count that number/letter combination it equals 32 characters. So just making sure if thats right

Don't believe this deserves its own thread: how hard would it be to get the wireless video streaming to work on an unhacked N3DS with a non-working top screen? Since I don't know the system software version I might update and use oot3dhax.

PlaiSysUpdater checks the hashes of all the CIA files related to your console model and region before downgrading. it's a fork of SafeSysUpdater that always uses "memchunkhax2.1" because it's more stable I think, as well as a few other changes.

you could, but you would be safer if you use PlaiSysUpdater. it's exactly the same (press "Y" to downgrade to 9.2) but safer in case one of the CIAs are corrupted somehow (or the wrong pack is used), so you really should use it.

What alternatives are there? Currently I'm on N3DS 10.7 and I cannot install MenuHax (duh), but I read having it installed should allow other homebrew to run. How would I get a backup of my NAND if these tools won't run?

EmuNAND9, and decrypt9 only work on 9.2 or lower. To make a nand backup on >9.2, you have to hardmod your system and dump the nand. That's the only way.

Backup your sd
make an emunand with emunand9
Place aureinand files on your sd
Use menuhax to boot into it, or get ctrbootmanager, i have 3 files you can download if on menuhax to just boot into ctrbootmanager with no editing, if you want
Or, i can just upload a zip file, and just place everything on root, and just use your menuhax trigger to boot into it.

depends if you found the process thus far to be confusing and or daunting then install rxtools and be done . . . but if you are up to it continue on with the guide as written get the otp and then al9h

(my personal opinion is just get rxtools for now gain some exp with cfw then decide if al9h is a right for you)

A9LH is an entry point to the system functions of the 3ds, which uses the arm9 kernel. By accessing this before the actual boot of the system you get this:
A9LH gives you 100% boot rate (menuhax depends, mine is about 75% now). It boots way faster than menuhax if you use updated sysnand mode, because it needs to load less stuff. You have the ability to recover from a brick without a hard mod because you can always restore NAND backups to roll back to a working NAND. A9LH makes your device future proof as it is the best exploit right now. It is almost impossible for Nintendo to fix this entry point. They'd either need to come to your house and mess with your system their selves or exploit their own exploit but they won't do that because it takes too much time for still the minority of the 3ds owners.

Merge (equals copy and pasting two folders with the same name) the 3ds folder from the zip with the 3ds folder on the root of your sd card. Launch the homebrew launcher and there it is.

If you want A9LH your best bet is to exactly follow the guide before. Just start at part 1 now you're at 9.2 and you're good

I've recently bought a gateway card for my 3ds, I've set everything up correctly, when I press select my game card either tells me error or the game loads and within a few seconds the system tells me the card has been removed. I've dumped my own ROM and even tried different microSD cards. Also when I run the system check it tells me everything is fine. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem, particularly with Fire Emblem Fates: Special Edition, or if I just happened to get a bad card. Thanks.

so . . . fire emblem requires a higher fw than gateway supports and so games that need higher than 9.2 must be "cryptofixed" to be played on 9.2 or lower

Put these files on the root of the sd card, overwrite all files, boot menuhax then selet aureinand
Done, then create an emunand if you want

Anybody know why I cant play online with Super Smash Bros even though the private header works and the redNand is on the latest firmware? Keep getting error code 002-0119.

I can play Mario Kart 7 just fine on the redNand. But for some reason this game wont
