Got the Homebrew set up, and then followed the Part 2 Downgrading tutorial, got to step 10 to downgrade 9.2, and it successfully did it (9.2.0-20U) So then I see it says to skip to step 18, but Im not sure why I need to do the rest of the steps in Part 2? Let alone Part 3? It seems since I've already downgrading I can just stop there? Sorry if I missed something

they set you up with an emunand so you can have a nand on 10.7 and 9.2. the emunand will be on 10.7 and the emunand will be on 10.7. if you want to keep ur games and what not on the emunand when it tell u to run tinyformat on the emunand dont. run it on the sysnand instead. you can also just finish the guide and have a9lh and have a fully hacked 3ds that you dont have to worry about not being able to run games on

Pretty easy as you can easily get homebrew.

It then starts the black screen for the homebrew, and it says

Now normally after 1 second or 2, it would send me to the homebrew laucher, but now it exits out of it and back to the home menu with a message that says "An error has occurred. Please save your data in any software currently in use, and then restart the system."

Does being in 9.2 mean I dont use the Cubic Ninja entry point anymore? Or has something gone wrong?

You have to change the qr code. The first one u made was for a fw over 9.2. Just put the fw info in again and gen a new qr code

Yeah that worked. Thanks. Now just need to get the right angle for this damn 3ds to scan the code. Keep getting an error. I know it takes multiple times, so should get it eventually

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who is taking the time to give advice to noobs in this thread. Hopefully this is the right place for me to ask this.

My question: My CFW knowledge is somewhat basic. I have meticulously followed this guide from Part 4 on my n3DS (I already had AuReiNand 10.7 installed and working). I am currently stuck on this section where it says:

• Your 3DS should reboot into the AuReiNand menu. If you get a black screen, follow this troubleshooting guide.

I followed the troubleshooting guide and booted with the test payload which allowed me to shut down with the A button, which proves my device is not bricked, "arm9loaderhax is working and something else is broken". Any idea what could be causing this?

EDIT: I was able to restore my sysNAND to a previous backup and try Part 5, Section II again, but I ended up with the same black screen error.

You can use a DS flashcart to run DS roms. There is no purely software based method to run them currently.

Hello guys,

I am getting back to my 3DS after a huge break of 2-3months (due to my board exams).
I have my current 3DS setup with sysNAND firmware 9.2 and emuNAND firmware 10.3 (RxTools)
I want to start over (in a sense) and format my sysNAND and emuNAND for a fresh start after these big break
But I don't want to lose my emuNAND and Custom Firmware etc...
So what are the steps for doing this. ?

Any advice is appreciated

Any O3DS that hasn't been used will be on 9.2 or lesser firmware. If you did somehow get one that's on 10.7, it can still be downgraded, but you'll need either Cubic Ninja, Ocarina of Time AND a save dongle, or a Sky3DS to downgrade it.

Yes, you can run backups on it. There's a bunch of guides for setting up CFW, etc... but I'd just follow Plailect's guide since it is the most complete, and will set you up with Arm9loaderhax which is currently the best exploit.

It's pretty much about 3% now, which is a pretty low guess. The tools have been updated and everything is double checked so the risk is pretty damn low. I suggest you use Plialects guide: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki
As it is the best right now. Don't worry about your O3DS. The biggest risk here is downgrading to 2.1 and the o3ds can run this natively (the n3ds can not) so no worries there.
