Nintendo believes that all-new anti-piracy tech in 3DS will be foolproof to cracks from illegal downloaders.

    SOURCE

This ought to make the hackers very interested in cracking it all the more.....tell them it's impossible.....

    Gonna go with this.

And you also have a pretty nice DS hacking community moving from one console to another. You'll have plenty of people trying to crack it. Or just make flashcarts. Who knows.

I'm pretty sure it's just another bluff, this generation they made two of the easiest consoles to pirate on. I don't think they'll end up like Sony's fortress of a PS3 next gen.

    Look at the Flag...
I've already said it on another thread about 3DS AP.

The DSi/3DS mode will be very certainly hard to hack.

But for DS mode (retro-compatibility), it's a matter of month...

    And also, wild guess:

The future revisions of 3DS (3DSi ? [IMG] ), will not have DS compatibility.

It won't be the end~! People will eventually get to it, it will just take a lot of patience. There is a way to achieve anything, if one really tries~!

Even though the R4 has been outlawed in Japan, there are still legit uses for it.

I love how the R4 is the only thing they know.

I know the DSi hasn't been opened fully for CFW, etc. but to say that "They combated the piracy on DSi" is nothing short of a joke.

People can try as hard as they like it doesn't necessarily mean it'll work. See the PS3 for an example. Or the current generation of satellite receiver boxes, piracy used to be a big problem with these but now they can no longer be hacked. Closed systems can infact be secure, don't just assume something will get done just because. However saying that, i can't see Nintendo who are notoriously bad in this area to manage to do it.

Don't forget DSi Ware. They don't make too much on it, but there is no published way to pirate it.

But they did. They introduced countermeasures that still haven't been cracked. If that's not combating piracy, I don't know what is.

Ah yes, however: there wasn't much of a reward from hacking DSi mode. Only some extra processor Mhz and more RAM.
And besides that, all DSi enhanced game are mostly shovelware. Why crack DSi mode to play more shovelware?

I hope nintendo and especialy third party companys make decent games that are well worth buying for this new system, if it ends up like the ds with all of this shovelware crap that keeps creeping up....then all i can say hack away hackers, cos there is no way im buying shovelware cheap crap games.

People don't need a reason, they do it because they can and because of the challange. Often they also want the Rep too.
