Hacking 3DS flashcart came out and video inside

the Acekard Team has replied to my email saying that they have managed to run the Acekard 2i on the 3DS.
They said they need more testing before they can release anything though.

Great news. But now I'm torn weather I should upgrade my AK2.1 to a 2.1i to keep AKAIO or, since presumably SC2 will be upgraded as well, upgrade to that so I can keep playing GBA games like KuruKuru Kurin. Decisions, decisions....

I don't think the updates will do much against DS mode carts, any more then they did on the DSi. I agree with most people here that Nintendo is focusing on the 3DS side of things, protection wise. If there's not a 3DS mode cart for years (even hough, I think there will be in 1-1.5 years at the most) that doesn't bother me as long as at a minimum I can keep my emus. Never know when I'll want to play frostbite or something.

why bother to stop hackesr re-hacking a dying game market(or soon to be),all pirated roms in interworld are already a loss to big N.
it's a smart move to leave a door open to a uncureable problem.

If you know you might be robbed you put change in your pocket and notes in your sock.
A 3ds that will play old already downloaded roms will sell better than a 3ds with a limited release list.

thats a fact.

nintendo wants to sale tones of units to get ready for a christmas battle with the ngp,this is why zelda or mario is not cutting the ribbon on release.
I hope the 3ds side of thing won't be hacked and believe nintendo have stop most people wanting to by offer a more enjoyable handheld service i.e. streetpass etc.

lets say 3ds games can be striped and place on a flashcard who want to start buying 32gb card which could only hold around 16 games tops
not me it would cost to much in the long run and chances are you would only experience half what the 3ds has to offer.

this is all guess work and how i would look at it.

No one's talking about the NGP, this isn't the place for that.

In fact, Nintendo isn't even worried about the competition and they never really have been, they show it in their actions and have actually stated it.

Either way, this is about flashcarts, not NGP vs. 3DS.

Please don't turn this into a war between the consoles and the fanboys, thank you!

Not really. I'm just curious if they can modify their "Fish Tycoon" for 3DS or if that doesn't work on 3DS.

DS2 uses a different update system than normal flashcards. We don't know if that works on a new system.

They're still alive, don't know what they're up to, though...

Personally, I'd like a sexier game for the DSTWO. I mean, the Alex Rider icon for the Acekard 2i looks pretty cool, I'd like an awesome one for the DSTWO as well.

the DS1i and DS2 both have reflashable headers, therefore will work on the 3DS after an update.
EDIT: The SuperCard team is very much alive, give them (and the others) some time.

He never mentioned the death of the 3DS in there.

I've always been of the mindset this isn't a fight between Nintendo and Sony. It's a future fight between Nintendo and Apple. Nintendo needs to be terrified of the iPad2, iPhone, iPod Touch. A lot of my friends kids dont have a PSP or DS. But they almost universally have an Apple product their kids use so much they have to ration it out. There's going to be a generation of kids who think "Why do I need this other thing that only plays games? I can already do that on my iPhone/iPad/iTouch". This is the problem Nintendo has to solve in the next 3-5 years or they are going to be in big trouble.

I believe that the supercard company is still active, but only keeping a low profile. Who knows? Maybe tomorrow they might launch a new firmware to be 3DS compatible for their DSTWO or maybe even surprise us with a 3DS flashcart months or weeks later?

That's why I said "upgrade" as in "buy a new one". But I could see how the choice of words could be confusing.

No need to worry. Supercard, Acekard, and many other companies are working their asses off, trying to achieve DS mode.

This R4 just happened to do it first.

iOS has games, and there are more customers for some of those games than there are for the majority of DS games.
I'm fairly sure that qualifies as competition, even if it isn't a dedicated gaming console.

Also, this fanboy rage is rather off topic, can we please get back to the discussion of the DSmode games working on the 3DS?
