3ds blue light turns on for half a second then turns off again

my 3ds just turns off half a second after i press the power button. it started the same day i dropped the 3ds. when it actually turns on which happens rarely it does the unable to mount ctrnand. it worked perfectly fine before i dropped it. also, there is no popping noise. i assume it has something to do with battery since when i press the battery to the 3ds when turning it on, the blue light stays on, but the screen doesnt turn on. thanks in advance
