Whatever possessed Nintendo to place the MIC at the bottom front, I can't even blow into it properly and at the same time move the hand on the screen. how lame!

Well, you're doing it wrong if you're blowing and rotating Link at the same time!

ha....you mean its a good idea to put the mic at the bottom front?
What about putting mics of cells now on the back, just the next step of great industrial design ideas!

...Are you retarded? And I'm seriously asking. Or rather you lack common sense. You lack it to the point that you can't even discern how utterly idiotic your question is. Now why in the hell would Ninty, while designing their new system, think to themselves, "Let's get some lulz at the weebos by putting the Mic were it was on the old system so that when they play the DS game on the 3DS they will have a hard time, LOL". You don't really think that's how it went down do you?

I recently purchased spirit tracks and I have never played a Zelda game on the DS or 3DS but as soon as I realized that I could not use the d-pad or buttons to control the game I immediately put it down and have never picked it up again. I cannot stand using the stylus to control the game its just not comfortable.

Are the controls for OOT 3ds the same or can you use the analog stick and buttons?

There's a set of AR codes you can use to give the game dpad controls IIRC.

Because you were supposed to look up stuff about the game before buying it,
If you already knew you disliked touch-screen only controls, a quick Google search about the controls in that game would have showed you that the game isn'T for you.
Now you wasted money on a game.

there is no such thing as wasting money on video games. Even if they suck its still another to add to the collection!!!!! I actually did research it a bit (not the controls but the game itself IE: story and entertainment value) and many people gave it high scores. Zelda being as popular as it is and being around for so long I just figured that controls would not be a problem.

TC: you do know that the 3DS mic is sensitive enough to register a relatively-soft mic blow from the sweet spot, right? right?

i guess you don't, seeing as you made this topic. tell you what, why don't you practice it from the main menu? try testing how hard to blow to make the icons spin, get it down right. then do that in-game.

I have to agree with the op, i tried spirit tracks, and the mic placement is a pita for this game.

Edit i have just tried spinning the icons on the main menu, and blowing down from above it does not work very well, it works better moving the ds and blowing from the front, which will be annoying while playing spirit tracks.

Why don't you people try it instead of flaming the op.

you have to literally place your mouth on it and blow, a simple blow does not go well in this game. regardless, trying to blow into the mic and use the stylus to move to the next note is terrible. i think i will put this game away to never play.if the mic was placed like the DSL i think it would be more easier.

I'm no fan of Spirit Tracks but you do realize that it was designed for the DS, right?

When Nintendo was developing a new system, they were probably thinking how to design a more effective console than the DS, not "OH NO SOME GUY WANTS TO PLAY SPIRIT TRACKS ON IT!"
