Hardware 3ds and 3d movies and CIA installs

So I've just got a 3ds XL on 4.5. I seen videos showing playing 3d movies on it and was wondering is it safe to set up online to do this or what's the best way to do it. also can I run any cias or similar as I wait on my gateway?

It's a bit finicky when booting up (sometimes you have to restart the console a few times to get it to work). But once it's up and going it works fine.

Cfw is pretty buggy and takes me a lot of tries before it works. But once it does i leave it on standby.
