Everyone here is preaching the words of that ex Sega developer. His article, by the way, is pretty much the only source for this supposed issue. All other articles cite his.

I've been saying this from the beginning.

No you're safe anyway. The people preaching doom and gloom think they know more than an eye specialist because they read an article by a guy who worked on 3D for the Genesis.

no new technology can be called powerful unless it has atleast "some" harmful effects and on the TV show, reading in the dark, TV and others will not cause u to have glasses or cataract etc
a very good reason for spectacles is genes... so if u are known to have trouble reading or staying on infrared screens (hmm) then shift your eyes 20-20 (ie every 20 mins look away 20 feet for 20 secs) and do not worry
