Will the expansion pack with with an off the shelf cart? Or do I have to dump the rom, and run it from my ez-flash V (or now R4DS).

Also, with the new patching tool for R4DS, am I better to get the R4DS versus the ez-flash V? It seems that most reviews favour the R4.

    Thanks,
    ~S

ok, sounds like I want the ez-flash V to go with the expansion, as rumble does not work with the R4DS.

But I still have not seen this question answered: does rumble work with off the shelf games carts?

    Thanks,

I don't think it works with real cart.

It doesn't work with retail carts. RAM function won't work with the real browser cart too. GBA linkage will work with anything though.

But the RAM will work with the ROM right? As long as the rom is patched?

If you're using an EZ-Flash V, the RAM expansion will work with both clean and hybrid (ie patched) ROMs.

    The same applies to rumble.

What if I am using a M3 Simply? I thought they added support for M3/R4.

Triple pack support for R4/M3 is all thanks to the work of homebrew developers Cory1492 and BigBoss.

Cory released a homebrew app which allows the RAM expansion to work on slot-1 flashcarts. He also released a patch which demonstrates Metroid Pinball with rumble support.

BigBoss has a working homebrew app which allows Triple-pack GBA management.
