Wii hacker Youness Alaoui, also known as KaKaRoToKs, announced on Twitter that he'd successfully unpacked the firmware and published its signing keys, opening the door for new custom firmware to be created that would mimic the latest update and allow hacked PS3s to regain access to PSN. [/p]

    ughh
not hacked, they cant obtain the private key since a new encryption was put on as well as a white list, only public keys have been posted

KaKaRoToKs even announced he wont be working on 3.56 anymore and will stay on 3.55
    http://twitter.com/KaKaRoToKS/status/30819204785512448

they have to figure out a way to remove the new encryption, put the old one on, remove the white list, all while trying not to get a PSN ban
    pretty hard task

I fail to see why everyone is calling Sony for failing. Failing at what, I may ask?

Keeping the 1337 hax at bay or something.

They're just making sure their business model isn't broken to the average consumer. That's what a company does.

public keys are not too bad but hats off to sony for putting in a new stronger firmware. considering the DCMA takedowns, wont sony come back to remove it? i think some help for failoverflow would be great

It's a pretty smart strategy to keep people out of psn if they run cfw to limit piracy. They can keep psn and I'll keep booting off my hd and running homebrew. I'd be nice if we could have dual boot ofw cfw.
