I'm going to wait until they come out with the hardware revision that has a bigger battery.

Don't give me that look. You know it's going to happen.

They mentioned 3-5 hours with everything on. Is this based on a stress test? If so, then wouldn't that stress test also include running the CPU at 100%, continual transmission of data via WiFi, memory reading/writing, etc.? In a real case scenario, the device won't ever be stressed like that during normal use, which says to me the battery life will be higher. 3-5 hours sounds like a worst-case scenario.

I never use my ds lite for longer than 3 hours at a time, so I don't see any reason why I should be bothered by this. Who cares anyways? If the charge dies you just plug it in. Kids these days are so spoiled. Back in the day, you had to put 6 alkaline batteries in your handhelds, and they lasted for like 2 hours, then you had to buy more.

Yo Grandpa, we are not in 80s anymore, so we do want some better stuff.

I am saying about hardware improvements or like the battery improvement. And the Gamecube was a really great console in my opinion.

The Gamecube was a great system, and it had lot of great games, but it was a harder to find a good game on the Gamecube than 'twas it to find on some of Nintendo's other systems. Though that wasn't the GC's fault.

Back on topic, it is sad that we aren't further in Battery power storage and output. It's 2011.

No idea what you are really going on about. My Game Boy Pocket went on for over 10 hours with batteries of good quality. Sure, cheap batteries dried fast, but that's obvious.

He's talking about the SEGA Game Gear which uses 6 battery's.

This is how much battery life a DS lite would give you when using a flash cart...

Plus, the active backlight feature sounds really nice. I don't see any reasons to not turn it on.

This. Plus it probably has to deal with the SD card too. Not to mention the battery life on the 3DS exceeds 6 hours with the wifi off, 3D off and backlight moderate/dim.

I really don't see why people are complaining so much. Are you really gonna be able to play for 3-5 hours a day without a charger close by? Like, the only way I can see why you'd need more life is if you have a long car ride or something.

This. I agree, it's not like it's going to be that much of a problem; if it turns red, just go and get your charger.
However, it will be a problem when you use the charger too often and your battery life decreases, though you can always go and buy another battery.

Better battery (if they even exist and are cost effective) equals higher price, so I'm good with the three to five hours deal. I just hope it'll hold that charge efficiently for at least two years before I have to replace it. I also hope they don't come out with any new iterations of the 3DS.

NOw youve put some sense in it, if the game gets more expensive, than there is no problem in 3-5 hours of battery.

That's good. I usually played up to 2 hrs then get a break so I can exercise and active. You can just do the same and just put it up for charge so you can play it again few hours later. Nothing's wrong with 3-5 hrs. Its good enough.
