Gaming 2p Online

Essentially, when playing 2p online, can the second player use a License from Mariokart, or do they have to be a guest all the time... it means that when me and my sister play, only one of us can get ranking points

EDIT: Forgot to put Mariokart in the title... though hopefully it was obvious enough...

otherwise people just cheat from it
for example, my gf plays as guest, she doesn't need to care about ranking so what she needs to do is just help me to become 1st
