Not a great deal has happened* in 360 land since last post on the 17th (last thursday) so this thread is mainly to get on top of it all to save a big rush when October and the considerable amount of (pre)releases that will bring hits. Those old threads are linked at the end of this post.

*OK there was probably enough for a post but I was on holiday too.

As usual these threads will be concerned mainly with games released with English in them and possibly the odd Japanese release if it is of note (very rare on the 360) until otherwise requested. These threads should contain enough info but if you want more
<a href="http://www.abgx.net/filename/?ch=6" target="_blank">http://www.abgx.net/filename/?ch=6</a> has release names and a great deal of info for those new to this 360 business and these thread owe thanks to <a href="http://www.ludibria.com" target="_blank">http://www.ludibria.com</a> for the NFOs.

360 games can be region locked (the choice falls to the developers/publishers) and there is no real way to tell if one will be before it is dumped other than German area releases usually are.
As far as most people are concerned region locking still exists on the 360 but there is no great worry unless you are rocking a Japanese 360 as game releases usually fall very close together region wise these days (usually within a week).
Now we have some new homebrew methods (provided you have not done the August 11th 2009 update you should be able to get homebrew or get it in the near future your xbox model depending) there is talk of a workaround or more accurately updating the existing workarounds. There are two main options being considered:
    1) Flashing a different region code- unless you have a dual nand chip (one region on each) this is a fairly long winded process but it does work.
    2) A "rebooter" app- nothing has yet been tried with this newest iteration of the homebrew exploit (a much older incomplete version exists) but the general idea is to (soft) reboot into a custom kernel/similar which handily ignores things like region checking.
At present these are far from end user level though (the only thing approaching that is the compiled version for the Xenon- the first iteration of the 360), if you want to read up <a href="http://www.free60.org/wiki/Main_Page" target="_blank">http://www.free60.org/wiki/Main_Page</a> , <a href="http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php?pagename=Free60JtagHack" target="_blank">http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php?pagename=Free60JtagHack</a> and <a href="http://www.xboxhacker.net" target="_blank">http://www.xboxhacker.net</a> have information on such things although be warned conversation is of a highly technical nature and it is expected to be if you join in.

Release dates for the regions concerned will be mentioned if truly necessary although you can quite easily look it up and make your own decision- as far as we know playing games ahead of time does not affect things but these prerelease games can sometimes be bad dumps, dumps from non retail sources, bad packing of dumps and so on.
Obviously a retail release is needed to verify said releases against and those are a bit thin on the ground prior to release dates. The tool AGBX360 is used to verify isos, directories and games burned to disc and can fix isos and directories if necessary but requires this data (a basic check is still possible though).
Those who do not care about being banned from live or are willing to risk it then not much need to worry unless otherwise mentioned (as an example the first leaks of Halo 3 ODST were bad which meant while they would run a good chunk of gameplay was missing).

Releases and news are likely to be somewhat quiet for the next few weeks but we are still recruiting people who want to post these threads up for when it gets busy again so if you want to help out have a look at:

    A couple of nukes

<b>Call.of.Duty.4.Modern.Warfare.RF.XBOX360-DERKA</b> was nuked for being a dupe of an old release, reason: "dupe.XBOX360.2007-11-04". Made all the more odd by the fact their NFO contains a copy of ABGX verification data which has the exact file on the database. None the less the game is good so if you somehow find it then it will work fine.

<b>Pinball.Hall.of.Fame.Williams.Collection.USA-XBOX360</b> was nuked for invalid rar size ("invalid.rar.size" if you especially wanted the "proper" version), no propers or repacks yet as far as I can see but this is just a scene rules thing and will not change the end user experience in the slightest. I will be expanding on it in the main post section.

Similarly shortly before I started typing this "<b>Halo.3.ODST.PROPER.PAL.iTALIAN.XBOX360-RoME</b>" appeared but I have no reasons behind it yet it yet. The original Italian ODST release was from DNL who have had a few nukes over the course of things but nothing major (just dupes and scene rules) for quite some time now.

I need to find a better source for "old release" nukes but no propers have appeared.

    ABGX360 ( <a href="http://abgx360.net/verified.php" target="_blank">http://abgx360.net/verified.php</a> ) added:
I suggest you use the link above and the abgx360 tool as the site does not split games by language/region as you might so the following list may look a bit odd.

Heroes Over Europe [Unofficial DB Name] RF
    Halo 3: ODST RF
    NHL 2K10 RF
Halo 3 Multiplayer (ODST Disc 2) RF
    Halo 3: ODST RF
Halo 3 Multiplayer (ODST Disc 2) RF
    Halo 3: ODST RF
Scene It? Box Office Smash PAL
Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3 NTSC/J (Excludes China) NTSC/U
The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles PAL
Fallout 3 -- Game Add-On Pack: Broken Steel and Point Lookout PAL
    NHL 10 PAL
    Need for Speed Shift PAL
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey PAL
    Need for Speed Shift PAL
    Red Faction: Guerrilla PAL

Perhaps interesting to note the second halo 3 odst disc (Halo 3 multiplayer + maps) is the first "new" second wave disc for some time (everything else including the main ODST disc is third wave), nothing special mind you
On the subject of Halo3 ODST the retail discs confer entry to an upcoming beta of Halo Reach (a prequel), how this will play out for those reading these threads might be interesting to see.

    Less notable releases
<b>PES.2010.DEMO.XBOX360-Xdemo</b>- A Demo of the upcoming pro evolution soccer game.

<b>Fallout_3_Broken_Steel_And_Point_Lookout_PAL_FRENCH_XBOX360-ZER0</b> and <b>Fallout_3_The_Pitt_And_Operation_Anchorage_PAL_FRENCH_XBOX360-ZER0</b>. Disc copies of the French versions of the Fallout 3 expansion packs (not sure if/when a French Game of the Year version is coming but that is what I suggest others hold out for).

    <b>Halo.3.ODST.German.X360-UNLiMiTED</b> , <b>Halo_3_ODST_KOR_XBOX360-CLARE</b> <b>Halo.3.ODST.PAL.iTALiAN.XBOX360-DNL</b> (see note on proper in nukes section) <b>Halo_3_ODST_CHT_XBOX360-KFC</b> and <b>Halo_3_ODST_PAL_FRENCH_XBOX360-ZER0</b>
German, Korean, Italian, Chinese and French region dupes of Halo 3 ODST, with the exception of the Chinese release (unknown at this time) all are known to be region free.

<b>G-Force.MULTI2.PAL.XBOX360-RoME</b> Region dupe of G-Force featuring Italian and German languages.

<b>Terminator_Salvation_JPN_XBOX360-Caravan</b>- Japanese region dupe of the rather awful Terminator Salvation film tie in.

<b>NCAA.March.Madness.08.NTSC.XBOX360.iNT-dumpTruck</b> An internal release of an older title (original was <b>NCAA_FOOTBALL_08_USA_XBOX360-NiG</b>), no reason given but it is an internal release so there does not need to be.

I tend not to follow the dox division relating to the 360 while the internet exists but some guides appeared

Finally in homebrew news Xmenu v0.3 was released for the 360- it is an ELF loader aimed at the recent homebrew activity on the 360. Think halfway between the homebrew channel and a replacement dashboard.
    NFO here:
    <a href="http://www.xbins.org/nfo.php?file=xboxnfo1738.nfo" target="_blank">http://www.xbins.org/nfo.php?file=xboxnfo1738.nfo</a>

Now we are all caught up on the minor events here are the releases in order of most recent to pre

PAL source- no word on other regions. Original US release was "broken" (from ABGX: ."dvd file wrong format. amend manually or get 2483 fix") and also region locked USA only, Japanese release was Japan only.
An action strategy game featuring guilty gear characters (guilty gear is a fairly popular fighting game series), not overly well received when it was released last year in the US.

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

US NTSC source- unknown for other regions (other games in the series are mixed for region locking). US release is set at the 29th of September.

The latest in a fairly long line of games endorsed by Cabelas, usually an FPS game about hunting and/or survival and this one also sees the return of story mode. None of the games have ever been shining examples of the FPS genre (to the extent that the break out of their niche) but they have their fans.
    Blurb from amazon:
    * Story based action with story written by Brian Andrew Gomez, with 'Clive Barker's Jericho' as co-creator, director and writer.
    * Comprehensive reward system will give instantaneous feedback for your performance. Use cover points to earn high scores and earn club points to unlock new areas.
    * Incredible terrain challenges including sheer cliff faces, escape avalanches and cross raging streams.
    * VITALS Shooting Mechanic simulates controlled breathing, enabling you to dial in your crosshairs and lock on for the perfect shot.
    * Mini-games featuring fast-paced hunting action of waterfowl, upland birds, small game.

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

PAL source- unknown for other regions.
As the title would imply Number 12 in the main series of The King of Fighters- a 2d sprite driven fighting game. Reviews have been average to say the least but fighting games are an interesting area for reviewers and fans of games so I would not be inclined to read too much into it.

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

US NTSC source- region locked US only.

As mentioned in the first part of this post it was nuked for invalid rar size but that will not affect the game in any way. Pinball is awesome and while I am not entirely sold on the idea of virtual pinball this is apparently a very good virtual pinball game (whether it stands up to the other very good but free pinball games remains to be seen).

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

PAL source- unknown for other regions. US release was PAL and US NTSC only.
As the NFO below says this includes English, French, German, Italian and Spanish and as far as I am aware the US version was English only.
Section 8 is according to those who played it is a competent run of the mill futuristic shoot em up likely to be outshone in the coming months but if you are need of something to play until then you could do far worse.

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

That should conclude this update, if something notable happens I will be back tomorrow and if not I will be back when something does happen.
