I have a tin of old foreign currency, and GBAtemp is a multicultured place. Maybe one of you can help me - they way central/south america currencies change, sites like xe.com are pretty useless.

    2000 Uruguay Pesos (1989)

    10000 Chile Pesos (1992)

    10 Venezuela Bolivares (1990)

1000 Brazil Cruzeiros Reais (no date)

    5000 Colombia Pesos (1992)

    5 Argentina Pesos (no date)

    1000 Ecuador Sucres (1986)

    5000000 Peru Intis (1991)

Would any of you happen to know what these are worth?

Just because GBAtemp is a multiculltural site, it doesn't give you the the excuse to be lazy...
Result number one for "money conversion" on a google search

    10000 Chile Pesos = 21.4042 USD
    10 Venezuela Bolivares = 4.66287 USD
    1000 Brazil Cruzeiros Reais = ????
    5000 Colombia Pesos = 2.67415 USD
    5 Argentina Pesos = 1.59520 USD
    1000 Ecuador Sucres = ????
    5000000 Peru Intis = ????

Don't underestimate the power of XE

EDIT1: Don't hold me responsible for mistakes [IMG]
EDIT2: 1000 Brazil Cruzeiros Reais would equal about 1.75 USD (checking dutch eBay price and converting euro back to USD)
EDIT3: Too lazy to do the rest, see if above prices seem right and otherwise you might want to try and search eBay for them and use those prices to calculate your amounts to get an idea of what it's worth

It apparently gives you the excuse to not read my post - the currency of South American countries changes often, and XE won't do any good, it only shows the newest form of that country's currency. I specifically said that.

Maybe Wikipedia will be more helpful...

It is! "Conversion: 1 peso uruguayo = 1000 nuevos pesos"

So those 2000 1989 nuevo pesos = 2 peso uruguayo. Now I can use XE.

Which tells me this is worth roughly $.09 USD [IMG]

We stopped using that in 1993.. where the hell did you got that? [IMG]

If I remember well.. that should be worth around $1 BRL.. which should be around $0.50 USD [IMG]
But I don't think anyone would accept it.. [IMG]

I don't know where it came from, I have 20+ notes in a tin in my filing cabinet, with ~30 coins.

I know that 500,000 Peru Intis should be around $25 if you sell it to an appropriate dealer.

    !!!?????? ?????? ?????????

Here's a website to help you
