2 years ago I migrated to CFW from OFW 3.15
I was told I should be fine with CEX.
I'm trying to remember what the difference between multiman and rebug are, and how the heck to update to latest versions, etc.

I see on the rebug.me site that D-REX and REX cobra 7.1 look like the latest version.
REX seems to be what I'd want to install on my CEX system.
Am I just putting this .pkg on a usb stick and updating?

This seems like something simple to do, I just want to make sure I'm not going to brick.

Multiman is a backup loader/toolbox that's installable as a pkg.
Rebug is a CFW.

Disconnect from the internet, remove and discs from the drive and place the REX on a USB stick under USB:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

(note you need to rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP)

Then just choose update from storage media in the system settings. Once done you should be on the new CFW. Then you can install whatever you wish.
I can't remember the link for Multiman, but check a page or two back at psxplace and you should find it.

Is there a better alternative to multiman? will this erase the current install of multiman?

COBRA is the alternative, basically loads games from XMB instead of going into multiman every time. Its built into the latest rebug just not ON by default. install the newest rebug toolbox and enable from within.

Multiman and Cobra can coexist. just cobra is easier/faster

OK, I saw that 4.75.2 got pulled, and I guess we're waiting around for 4.75.3, what about something like ps3netserv? the fatboy I have atm is on 80GB, but I have a couple of NASs that have room and are where my backups currently sit. Does cobra implement this type of feature?

PS3NETSRV works fine with Cobra allowing you to mount ISO's and such over the network. Webman+PS3NETSRV is what I use daily.

4.75.3 was posted earlier, I got it installed, and am now updated there. I am planning to install the rebug toolbox in a little bit. However, I'm still trying to find the most up to date ps3netserv, though.
