The graphics are thiner than on the SNES and the mode 7 is not pixilated, but the shot is slow so slow... on the SNES in r type 3, it goes at the same speed as Rtype 2K for rpgmaker 2000. The sound effects are cool and the game seems to be easier than the snes version but the music is horrible...

I am not disapointed but i thought the game could be better on GBA as Phalanx was better on GBA than the snes version.

This is the worst port ever! The music sounds like a dollar store piano, the screen is cramped, the autofire shoots a bullet every 3 seconds, the collision detection is awful, and the game is sluggish. If you're like an inch away from the enemy, you're dead for some reason. The game moves slower than a slug with lung cancer. Get the Snes version.

Slow? Everythings slow in Europe due to our PAL TV system. So if you compare the NTSC and PAL version of SNES R-Type III, I wouldn't be suprised if the PAL version runs slower.

PAL makes for example Tekken3 on PSX unplayable in Europe if you're used to the NTSC version. Timing is completely different.

Raylight Studios is located in Italy, so they probably used the PAL version as reference.

As for the music... I think it sounds ok on real hardware.

I just noticed that the "R-Type" I thought I played back in 1992 actually was "Project-X" by Team17 on the Amiga

Which by the way has a lot better music than the boring R-Type tunes.

The port of R-Type III to GBA isn't perfect, but I don't think it's as bad as most of you say either.

Well the PAL/NTSC issue doesn't apply for the GBA cos it doesn't use any of them!
And yes R-type III is GBA version a bit slow but that isn't my bigerst complained. I still play the snes version but the gba version isn't all bad.

The real annoying thing is the collision detection it s*cks big time! The sound is weird, the music very different form the original the FX 2 loud and annoying! I
was looking forward to the cool intro for the first level when they zoom out from inside the ship and into the play field but the left it out! Raylight you s*ck!
