i cant when i format it on the card and put it in the computer to read it windows says it needs to format in order to read itWindows is recognizing it as 24 GB, which doesn't make any sense.
This might be a card reader issue. I'd recommend reformatting it on the phone if it's possible, then check again on Windows.
FWIW, fake cards generally advertise a larger size when they don't actually have it, so it's less likely a fake card and more likely some formatting or OS issue.

Afaik newer Android devices only support MTP/PTP protocols and not mass storage. So OP won't be able to use the S7 as an SD card reader if he intends to format it.What happens if you put it on your phone, and then use the phone as USB mass storage to navigate in the files?
