Gaming 07 Commando - Metal Slug Clone!

UK publisher Lexicon Entertainment today announced a new title for the DS called 07 Commando. Its by Chinese developer Mana Computer Software Co. Ltd and looks pretty damn nice, in fact I want this more than Contra 4!

Yes it looks like a Metal Slug rip off and yes they're ripping off the Commando name but we don't have that many quality arcadey titles like this on the DS and SNK can't seem to be bothered with bringing us a DS Metal Slug (oh please guys give us a Metal Slug 3rd Mission) so bring it on! The screens show massive enemies, action packed levels and to me a two player mode. I can' t wait! Sadly despite the 07 in the name it won't be out until Q1 '08.

Would be nice if it's released earlier though.

But ... IF any of the sprites are from one of the Metal Slug titles, I hardly doubt SNK will let the release happen!

Ya, the sprites don't just look similar to Metal Slug they've completely ripped them out of the game, 99.9% sure on that.

I'll try and get some screen grabs for comparison.

The sand on the 2nd picture is definitly from Metal Slug 2, this game will not be published as it current state, I dont think SNKP will let other companies use thier sprites and make money with it.

Well the Chronos Twin sprites used images that were in the public domain or something, perhaps this is the same and SNK put some sprites out or sold their graphic sets or whatever.
