    Hardware Wii eating my DVDs

I'm kind of baffled here. My Wii seems to keep "eating" my burned DVDs. But that only seems to happen with newer games. Two of the most recent examples are Zack & Wiki and Super Mario Galaxy. Both games worked perfectly fine. Then, after havign played Zack & Wiki for a few days, I played some...

    Wii games

I was thinking that Wii releases should get a compatibility tab similar to the one for the NDS games. Just that with the Wii games, we simply have PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J. Since, from what I know, it makes no real difference what kind of modchip you use, and wether you use RegionFrii or not, we...

    Misc Local over Wifi

OK, this is pure speculation (and maybe it's already been done) but seein such projects as XLink Kai, shouldn't it be theoretically possible to "simulate" a local connection between two DS over the internet? So, basically, the DS connects to a "simulated DS" on the computer through an adapter...

    Hacking GB Micro

OK, I know a guy asked a similar question like just one thread below me, but I didn't want to hijack his thread. I'm considering getting a GBM and a suiting flash card for GBA gaming goodness, but I'm kinda stumped as to what card to get, as I'm pretty much of a noob when it comes to slot-2...

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
