Yeah, I guess you're right. I found a Wii Drive Board at Divineo.com for just US$ 4.97! A real bargain!

Hacking How to play games through SD card in a Wii without a DVD drive?

So just the board would do the trick? I'll start searching for one, then.

Hacking How to play games through SD card in a Wii without a DVD drive?

OK, let me try to explain again: My Wii was working "fine". I could run games from DVD and from the SD card, because the USB ports were not working. Also, the GPU was not perfect (I got artifacts on Skyward Sword). So I decided to change the mainboard, that came complete, only missing the DVD...

Hacking How to play games through SD card in a Wii without a DVD drive?

Hello there. I just bought a replacement mainboard for my Wii, because my original one had a problem with the GPU and the USB ports. I had homebrew installed and was running games from the SD card. After I replaced it (and got everything finally working!), I wondered if my old mainboard would...

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

Already did, no errors, results on page 2. @ciris: I'm gonna try finding a USB keyboard. My wireless didn't work previously, but I'm gonna try a wired one.

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

Update: formatted my hdd to FAT32, installed the last cios as suggested by Foxi4, changed the cable (tried 3). Still no luck. HBC tries to recognize my hdd. With 2 of the 3 cables, on the "config page" (pressing 1 on HBC), the USB button lights a while after I attach the hdd, but then becames...

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

I don't use my hardrive just for the Wii, that's wh I didn't want to format it to FAT32. But I'll do it as a last resource. If it doesn't work the way it is now, I'm gonna install the lastest ciosx and experiment with the USB loaders.

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

I can only think that the problem lies on the Wii hardware. Something wrong with my USB port. But HBC sees the apps installed on my flash drive (the hard drive is NTFS formated, I think that's the reason why HBC does not recognize the external hdd). MPlayer-CE used to recognize the external hdd...

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

I got to the conclusion that the problem is somehow with my hardware. I don't have time nor patience to continue trying to restore it, I'll just use my SDHC. The size is quite limited (8 GB), but at least it works. Thank you all for your help!

I used that before, same results.

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

OK, I went through all the steps Foxi4 told me. Still no luck, it doesn't work at all. USB Loader GX doesn't recognize the USB drive when I launch the app with the drive already connected. And when I connect the drive while the count-down is going on, it stops counting for a second, then...

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

OK, gona try these steps. I'm just not sure how I would do the 3rd step. I installed the IOS 236, is that it? If not, could you give me more details on how I could do that step?

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

That was the first thing I tried, lol. Both slots give me the same results. I was thinking that my USB port(s) were broken too, but HBC works with USB, and MPlayer-CE worked too (not sure why it is not working now, maybe I need to do some IOS36 patching, I don't know).

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

I tried a 500 GB Toshiba external hard drive (USB powered), a 1 TB (AC powered) and 3 differents thumb drives. None work. I'm quite sure the problem is not with the USB drives. From my experience on other Wiis, they have worked with every usb drive I tried, be it an external hdd, be it a thumb...

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

I explained it detailed on other topic, but I'll do it again, with more details: I used the ModMii program to "update" the Wii to 4.2U (it was already on 4.2, I was just trying to make it "like a virgin"). Then I unistalled every IOS that was 200+. Used ModMii again, this time to mod the Wii...

Just used ModMii method, and was not surprised it still doesn't work.

Hacking No homebrew recognize my USB drive!

update: HBC recognizes the USB drive. I'm able to launch apps from it. Trying remoding with ModMii.

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

I'm not worried about bricking my Wii at all, because bootmii IS installed in boot2. I would not be dump enough to try and do something like this if I didn't have bootmii in boot2. But anyway, I'm trying ModMii now, anyway. Just finished getting my Wii back to "like a virgin", let's see how it...

Hacking Need nand dump, preferably with USB Loader working

I think that if what I'm trying to do doesn't go the way I intend to, I can always restore my Wii with my original nand backup, am I wrong?
