    Hacking WiiMC is picky

The application has to brute force the CSS key in order to decode the DVD, this can take time, so it's likely that this freeze is the wii trying to do that.

    Homebrew Bounty: a common effort

Minor pedantry: "$100 splitted into 3 categories" should be "$100 split into 3 categories"

    GBAtemp now ready for E3!

Videos start buffering without any interaction, that is just not cool. (And a major waste of bandwidth) Also not really keen on the layout, it seems visually bloated. Feels more like a website has been stuck in the middle of the portal, compared to the more integrated feel of the previous one.

ROM Hack Pokemon HG/SS Patcher - Bloodreader

It's just a bloated vb.net app, the progress bar seems to be advanced via timers too. (Well there are 3 on the form, and it does jump that many times too, I think -- what else would they be used for.) There is no file I/O from what I can tell. AKA: this is fake app from an attention seeking...

ROM Hack Pokemon HG/SS Patcher - Bloodreader

C:\Documents and Settings\QOAL\Desktop>diff "Copy of Pokémon - Soul Silver (U).n ds" "Pokémon - Soul Silver (U).nds" Hmmm.... (That means they match btw) C:\Documents and Settings\QOAL\Desktop>diff "Copy of Pokémon - Soul Silver (U).n ds" "Pokémon - Soul Silver (U).nds" Awesome...

Tutorial Wii Linux (XWhiite 0.2) with working WiFi tutorial

Since the armboot.bin that comes with the lastest bootmii is newer than the one that was posted when the first mini based kernel was released you may as well not replace it, save time and all that.

Limited edition Gold EDGE Kit give-away!

Egonny: The DS's screens are 256x192, I'd hope (and assume) that the skin engine would refuse different size images. (I doubt it would resize them for you any way) Offtop (sorry): That pop up is from Cema's avatar.

So I went on speedtest.net on the school's computer.

I wouldn't worry about your speed on BT... And that's on the Up to 8Meg/best package, I'm too far from the exchange to get nice speeds.

Edit:Also I only tested my app on XP, there may be issues with vista since I don't have it and UAC sucks.

Hacking Homebrew Channel beta 9 update available.

For no real reason I knocked up a NSIS script that uses powerpc-gekko-objcopy to recursively convert any boot.elf it finds to a dol version. It deletes the elf version for you too. (Aka place exe on root of sd card, run it, you're good to go.) Download Source script etc

Hardware My Wii is not receiving any messages...

You don't need to do any port forwarding, I didn't for my home hub, it's older and thus far crappier. (That and all important ports are open and point to my pc) But if you want to play with port forwarding on yours then go on to the home hub (api.home is a quick address to it) goto: Advanced ->...

Gaming Ever played/Still Play an MMORPG?

I used to play / be a developer on The Mana World. (2D, currently using eAthena (free Ragnarok online server) working on own server.) I should go back and say 'hi' some time. :/

Hacking An OPEN SOURCE backup launcher has been created

The thing I still don't get is why you need to install a cIOS. Surely it's quite possible to just use DI to read the disc?

    the mighty boosh

The radio show is the best, people should listen to that if they don't get the shows. Although the first series does take lots of nuggets from the radio show and when I saw them live it was basically the radio show recycled into a stage show, still awesome though.

Homebrew Ripping models from Pokémon Battle Revolution

Some people I think grabbed models from gamecube games using the dolphin emu and a directx scene ripper (DX3DRipper).
