    Hacking Firmware 1.1.3 files?

The OS isn't on the drive! It's on the FPGA. Or something. It's all black magic to me. Formatting the card doesn't actually remove anything, it just tells any user of the card that all the space is available. So when DS-X knew exactly where to find good old professor Layton, it could still do it.

    Hacking Firmware 1.1.3 files?

Auto-boot is still on. You have to keep some buttons (don't remember which) depressed while DS-X starts.

    Hacking Firmware 1.1.3 files?

http://yo-momma/temp/update.bin is the .bin file for the final public 1.1.3, but I'm not sure how to install it... didn't someone make an offline updater?

If you hold some keys while booting, "instant boot" will be turned off.

Hacking does 1.1.3 even fix games?

1.1.3 is a significant compatibility improvement. It fixes, among other things, games that need the "old arm7 fix": http://wiki.scorpei.com/index.php/DSX_compatibility_list As you can see, it does not fix games that need the "new arm7 fix".

Now, that's just mean, implying someone would pay money for a DS-X today. ;]

Hacking Need help with potentially bricked DS-X

Just click EDIT next to the section you want to edit - or the EDIT button at the very top of the page! Anyone can edit the page and submit their findings from testing. Whenever I test a game, I just go there and put the game in the list as "working" if it works. Don't bother with fancy...

Hatsworth is untested according to the list. If you by Suikoden mean 3512, it works with the "new ARM7 fix". Check the list, and don't forget to update it after you test something!

Yeah, a few people (me included) still update the list. Many of the newer games actually work =]

Hacking "Erase" crash when updating DS-X firmware?

Couldn't this be the culprit? The forums were always full of "the updater doesn't work on X" posts. If you have access to XP, try that.

    Hacking New games won't work

It's mandatory for many games. The old ARM7.bin donor won't work with newer ones. See the wiki.

    Hacking New games won't work

Well, those you mentioned have probably already been tested with the new ARM7 fix (just click the links in the compatibility wiki to find out what it means); I know Korg has. But it's still a short list of non-working stuff so far. Don't forget to update the wiki after you test something!
