Hacking Wii is not starting after update

Yes, it will screw your Wii. I guess it will not be bricked, but homebrew will be gone. Don't take the risk and look for a copy without the update.

Hacking Wii is not starting after update

Why pirate if I bought it? I understood from Nintendo it will cost at most 92 euro. I will send it next week, with some luck I have another one back within a week

Hacking Wii is not starting after update

It is really broken ... The modchip will be removed and I will phone Nintendo en tell them it is broken and I want to send it back. One little problem is that I bought it in march 2007, so there is no guarantee anymore.

Hacking Wii is not starting after update

I have an answer from Nntendo, unfortunately they say nothing in it. I can send the Wii to them, when they have it they'll let me now what it costs. They ignore my question about the modchip.

Hmz, SaveMiiFree is not starting up. I tried at least fifty times with up, down, left and right pressed on the same moment but nothing happens.

Hacking Wii is not starting after update

Just for the record: I did not sent the mail from my registered mail- and IP-address. But indeed: my guess is I have to pay for the repair and I will loose the modchip.

I just mailed to Nintendo asking them what they do if they find a modchip in my broken Wii. When they answer, I'll let you know.

Hacking Wii is not starting after update

I fear Nintendo since I am quite sure they do not really like the modchip. Maybe it helps if they see it is one of the first batches that has been sold, but I guess not.

I will also try that. Thanks! On that site they are talking about starting up and hold reset, so a preloader will occur. Is this similar to bootmii and should there something be installed before the brick? Just curious: was your Wii fixed?

Hacking Wii is not starting after update

Thanks for the explanation! I was indeed at 4.0e, after that I downgraded to 3.2e and by inserting Ice-Age-3 I (stupidly) upgraded to 3.4e. I do not like the term 'full brick'. If freemii is not working, I will go to the guy who soldered the modchip in it. If he is not able not fix it ... I...

Hacking Wii is not starting after update

I will try and keep you informed. Thanks so far! Someone else advised me to try to boot with Bootmii. When I am right, I am not able to boot it by using Bootmii since it is not booting at all?

IndianaJones also contains v386. Let's wait for the wired Gamecube-controler. If the savemiifree does not pop up, I will be very sad.
