Gaming GL2450HM An Upgrade to E248WFP

Either keep your money in your pocket OR get an (LED backlit) IPS panel. Anything else is just silly. (IPS has worse latency, though that has been quite fixed in recent years but way better color and contrast).

Hardware SMD replacement of capacitor, unknown value

Replaced the capacitors, sadly, no backlight (as if there was no inverter?). I think I am either still not replacing the caps right, or the CCFLs are really broken. Either way I think I'll be building me a LED backlight soon. Only thing I have to do is measure the power output to the inverter...

Hardware SMD replacement of capacitor, unknown value

Ordered the caps I linked to (the 500V ones that match the probably capacity). I'll put them on there and if it fixes it probably leave it at that. If not.... LED here I come ;). Naturally going to keep this thread updated.

Hardware SMD replacement of capacitor, unknown value

Afraid not..... Was hoping to get a rating off off the old caps... Seeing as they are near the end of the inverter board higher is quite possible. Best I can find that matches (with high voltage) are ceramic caps with 500V rating, but they are only 10nF meaning I would need 7x12 = 84 caps. Not...

Hardware SMD replacement of capacitor, unknown value

Well... I don't have any of those or any ones close. The smalles I have are the .47uF and I can't find any smaller... Would be really surprised if they were THAT low a value though.... anyone have anything definitive on what those things are?

Hardware SMD replacement of capacitor, unknown value

Made two with my phone, afraid I don't have any proper camera around right now. Pic 1 Pic 2 And the inverter board (not mine obviously):

Hardware SMD replacement of capacitor, unknown value

Just wondering if anyone would be able to help. I'm working on an inverter board and want to replace what I think is a capacitor. Thing is, I can't really find out what it is exactly. Markings on it: (no clear polarity) H683 2N47 Markings on the board which it is on are C{number}, and seeing...

Gaming Problem with trying to connect CPU and PSU cables to ASUS P7H55-M LE

Ok, after telling you that three times (among other people) and getting you to actually BOOT the board you manage to get my name wrong which you can read from your own quote or pretty much on any page in this discussion? Good luck have fun. I am however glad for you that you didn't wreck your...

Gaming Problem with trying to connect CPU and PSU cables to ASUS P7H55-M LE

That it turned off after that is good. Fact of the matter is you were putting power on stuff that shouldn't be getting power. In essence you were creating short circuits. Once more, try removing most of the stuff (especially your fan madness) and just hook up the CPU fan to a 4 pin CPU header...

you do NOT connect it to your motherboard :P. also just listen to me and dragoon.......

Gaming Problem with trying to connect CPU and PSU cables to ASUS P7H55-M LE

Could be me, not knowing the PSU myself (looked up a picture: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=602758 ) but why not simply connect the CPU fan to the CPU fan header? Should work fine. If you have an external fan speed controller you should have that hooked up into the PSU on...

    Gaming Worth $55?

I'm sorry, I was merely trying to help you out. Feel free to feel offended in any way and me ignoring this thread from now on. Aside of course from you stating the stock FSB speed from the e8500. Leaving this thread with awesome:

    Gaming Worth $55?

First, 3 sticks of ram can run in Dual Channel L-shaped mode. Second @ OC: No, don't do it. Just don't. This machine is for your little brother who knows less then you do. You clearly haven't (often) OC-ed Core 2 Duo machines so this is just a bad idea waiting to happen. The Core 2 duo series...

    Gaming Worth $55?

A computer for 55 bucks with a c2d e8500 including ram, board, etc. is a fair price IMHO. I wouldn't let my e4500 go for that money by a long shot. Proc alone is worth about 35-40€. The machine, when paired with a decent grafics card can run most of anything on high settings full HD, though...

    Hardware Monitor Repair

Leave it as is. The temperature rating on there is their normally allowed temperature to achieve the guarenteed lifetime and function. If you use it in a hotter enviroment, they will die faster possibly 'instantly'. Seeing as the thing might get hot, you might need to replace them sooner rather...

    Hardware Some questions about resolutions.

Fast really explained it well, but to be simple: Native for your monitor is always best (LCD). IF it is an LCD and it supports X x Y as a maximum, set it to that.

Hacking PS3 CFW 3.55 not running backups properly

Hm... no games seem to work, aside from original blu-ray disks I put in. Could be an issue with BDEMU v2? That sounds like the first suspect to me... [edit]Changed the payload from Hermes to Standard made my backup of Ridge Racer work, but still gives me red-yellow bar of death (have not yet...

Hacking PS3 CFW 3.55 not running backups properly

Right, so after being annoyed enough that Catherine didn't want to run on my 3.41 PS3 US 60gig (internal), I figured what the hey and let's update to 3.55 CFW Kmeaw. So I did. Sadly however, my uncharted 2 backup (which worked with 3.41 stock, payloaded via the ps3hax 'stealth' manager) now no...

Hardware Wanting to change a spare monitor to allow wireless capabilities?

Maybe not wireless, but an UTP extender? Seeing as you are already wanting to use a wireless controller... http://www.dealextre...-121186?item=23 Depending on what you want to use and what you want to pay that works fine. Use one myself (different one, more pricy ;)) with VGA with a cat5 cable...

    Hacking Super Memory Stick

Gij trol. Did a google for you on what the product is. For those of you who don't know: it's a memory stick for the GBA which is capable of booting on the GBA (my guess is via the link code) and then saving the save file of a cart that is inserted onto it's own memory. So in short: You can save...
