Hardware Mayflash MAGIC-NS Wireless Controller Adapter for NINTENDO SWITCH & PC

There's a new update on the Mayflash site. I don't know if that's fixed but we can use Wiimotes and Classic Controllers now.

Gaming (Breath of the Wild) Epona in Great Plateau... Anything I can do?

You can guide the horses off cliffs in BOTW by holding ZL and the direction, taking direct control of their movement. I don't think they'll jump down on their own except when enemies scare or knock them down. (That happened once and I had to go back to my last autosave) You can make them swim...

Hardware Nintendo Switch Technical Specifications Discussion

1.) Eurogamer was first to leak the hybrid form factor of the Switch while it was still known as NX so unless that was a wild guess they DO have sources. I've yet to see a single credible source point to A72, let alone A73. Nvidia seems to be still using A57s on Parker, their own Pascal Tegra...

Hardware Nintendo Switch Technical Specifications Discussion

I don't think the SOC is Pascal. The low clocks indicate either more shaders than TX1 or a larger process. If it were 16nm the CPU wouldn't need to be downclocked to 1GHz. Hopefully, the 4 A53 cores from TX1 would be used to run the OS so devs get full access to the 4 A57s for games, but there's...

Hardware what should Nintendo's next console be named ?

They kinda did that already. Wii U sounds like Wii iiW; it's the same forwards and backwards. Try it on your 3DS sound recorder!

Gaming Nintendo Should Fix the Infinite Lives glitch/patch on Mario 3D World

You'll need all of those lives for World Crown.

    Hardware Wiimote jacket smell

Smelled my Mario Wiimote jacket and it's funkier than a black or clear one, but it doesn't really stink to me. Some new rubber items stink up your home for weeks but this is mild in comparison. It'll probably wear off eventually.

Hacking WARNING - Gateway team bricks card ON PURPOSE!

Potentially bricking their consoles. It's self-serving and willful sabotage.

Hacking WARNING - Gateway team bricks card ON PURPOSE!

I hope Nintendo sues their goddamn shirts off.

I just leave the Wiimote condoms in the package. Maybe try the dishwasher?

Hardware Why make a console that is backwards compatible ?

The 3DS uses an ARM 11 CPU (2002). Need I list every Nintendo device which was based on decade-old tech? We'll likely see 22nm from any Wii U successor, unless Nintendo breaks their pattern of halving the process node with each successive console generation. Plus, Android desktops are on...

Hardware Why make a console that is backwards compatible ?

Not in 2017. It will be "withered technology" by then.

Hardware Why make a console that is backwards compatible ?

A15? that's not even 64-bit, and even though it has a 40GB address space, it can only do 4GB per application (1 game), ruling it out unless Nintendo limits the ram to 4GB. And how is Intel even in the running here? i7 is to costly and power hungry, and Atom is too weak, even for a Nintendo...

Hardware Why make a console that is backwards compatible ?

Every Nintendo handheld from GBA onward has been ARM-based, no Android required. An ARM Cortex A57 can easily hang with an AMD Jaguar; the architecture that powers PS4 & Xbone. Why else would AMD be releasing ARM-based Opterons? This is just what ARM has now. Imagine what super-tablet CPU...

Hardware Why make a console that is backwards compatible ?

There's no lack of third party support for Nintendo's handhelds, so a unified architecture nearly guarantees third party support for the console variant, and Nintendo fans will actually buy the games, unlike console multiplats. Sony and Microsoft want to emulate the monster PC, but those are...

Hardware Why make a console that is backwards compatible ?

It may be possible for Nintendo to go back to cartridges by 2017-18, as flash memory could be the norm by then. It seems like they've always wanted that anyway. Failing that, there's always digital. Mechanical drives are becoming obsolete in either case. Also, Nintendo doesn't make enough games...

Hardware Why make a console that is backwards compatible ?

The software can be scaled to hardware spec like PC games. Great spillover from the handheld market for Nintendo. No more droughts.

Hardware Why make a console that is backwards compatible ?

You read the quote; Nintendo is unifying handheld and console architectures. Give me a candidate that fits the bill besides ARMv8-A. Plus, AMD will be selling powerful ARM APUs in the near future. We've seen what Tegra K1 can do, and that's ARM.
